@PaulReynoldsSD @SVG__Collection I’m glad somebody noticed the glaring error in the original post, the Yamaha GX1 or “dream machine” as Stevie called it is the sound of SITKOL, but it’s a very different approach from the kind of “sonic sculpting” Magaloueff and Cecil created with TONTO on those earlier albums.

@SVG__Collection TONTO was not on SitKoL, as Stevie had a falling out with Margouleff and Cecil during Fulfillingnesses’ First Finale (even on that one, TONTO is used much less frequently than on the previous three albums).

Stevie Wonder’s 1976 double album Songs in the Key of Life is widely considered one of the greatest albums ever made — and here’s the cool part: He recorded over 200 songs during the sessions for it, but only picked 21 for the final release (plus a bonus EP). And Stevie, who was already blind, played most of the instruments himself on many tracks — drums, bass, keys, and more — using a pioneering synthesizer setup (TONTO, the largest analog synth ever built at the time). Also: When the album dropped, Motown Records had to stop all other production just to keep up with the demand. It debuted at #1 — the first album by an American artist to do so — and inspired everyone from Prince to Beyoncé. Stevie was only 26 years old.

@SVG__Collection Super Fly may be iconic but it’s far from Curtis’ best album, I love Grover but it’s the lightweight here, Hot Buttered Soul is great in it’s own way but mainly for the version of Walk On By….Pieces Of A Man!!!!!

Labour's decision to raise tuition fees is a disgrace. Government ministers might not be in Parliament today had they not benefited from free tuition. Now, they are lumping the next generation with even more student debt. Young people deserve better. Abolish tuition fees now.
