As Hanukkah begins, I’m wishing our Jewish neighbours, families, and friends a season filled with light, resilience, and community. Chag Sameach to all who celebrate.

Horrified by the antisemitic terror attack that has stolen the lives of 11 people at a Hanukkah event on Bondi Beach today in Australia. Canada stands with the people of Australia and Jewish people everywhere in sorrow, and determination never to bow to terrorism, violence, hatred and intimidation. Hanukkah is a time of light amidst the darkness, and a remembrance of the resilience of the Jewish people. May we all support and strengthen that resilience to protect our Jewish communities and to ensure more fundamentally that all people can thrive in every aspect of our society.

Here are my thoughts on the Canada-Alberta MOU

On this Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, we reaffirm the need to protect civilians, restore aid, uphold the ceasefire, and pursue a political solution that delivers safety and dignity.

@s_guilbeault’s leadership transformed Canada’s approach to climate action and nature protection. His 2019 candidacy encouraged me to run for MP. While his voice will be missed in cabinet, I admire his conviction and look forward to working with him in caucus.

On National Housing Day, we recognize the individuals who bring care and expertise to the building of homes, and the strength those homes provide to communities across the country. Their efforts help create the foundations on which Canadians build their lives, their families, and their future.

International Men’s Day reminds us that men’s well-being matters. “Be a man” shouldn’t mean staying silent. Real strength is honesty, reaching out, and showing up for yourself and others. Let’s create space for connection and care.

To move from reliance to resilience, Canada has to become its own best customer.    Our new Buy Canadian Policy will put Canadian materials and resources at the centre of housing and major project construction across the country.
