@purrmin @lennysan Another option is the “forwarded this email? Subscribe here” link which obv only converts small % of forwarded recipients but have more upside and is GDPR etc compliant

@purrmin @lennysan The big old ESPs use the “forward this to a friend” link which links to some UX they host and send new emails to the new recipients. There’s probably a play where you could compare “fingerprints” of open pixels (esp location) and make a guess...

Every time a newsletter from @lennysan arrives, I forward it to an average of three others. Do any ESPs (substack et al) have a reliable way to track opens by people who are not the original recipient?

5/ And last, you're not able to do all the complex things ESPs do to keep an IP's reputation high, since you've only got one IP to play with. e.g. IP isolation by engagement.
