@AnaCarolina_Art I enjoy Houdini way more for procedural assets that needs parameter and properties to have tons of variations. Geo nodes are fun but does not offer the same flexibility and depth as Houdini. A lot of times when things get a bit more complex you”ll hav to look 4 workaround

I haven't done procedural 3D modeling in quite a while, and want to get back into it. Should I go straight back to Houdini, or are Blender geometry nodes worth a try?

@NotSoLittleC Don’t know if it still holds true today but there are less vfx artists and tech artists compared to other disciplines so they are hard to find!! I also notice more recruiter emails towards the end of the year

it is not even midday and I have had 5 different recruiters contact me about different jobs. i wonder if this is happening across the board, because for VFX it is insane. i get a minimum of 10 recruiters a week 🤔

@YuraBronsky @maartenjhof Some might say that yes. Because it’s a ~20ppl class and if I sense they are not passionate and not putting effort I pay more attention to another student who works harder it’s only fair and this is where one on one mentorship fills the gap in the market

@patrickyeungVDK @maartenjhof Again, i don't think you are see that picture as you describe it yourself. You are seeing the picture from perspective of the teacher, not the student. I doubt many of your students will come out and say "well yeah that's wasn't worth the money"

The mentorship discussion is interesting… Why is it a question that an experts time costs money? Got me thinking about this: I had guitar lessons when I was a teen and nobody ever questioned paying the guitar teacher. Why do we question it when it comes to game dev?

@patrickyeungVDK @maartenjhof i don't think people are undervaluing each other, since as you established before, people are pricing themselves as they think is right price. Otherwise i could price my services for 2k for 1 hour, because i have 20 years of experience in music, would someone play that? NO shot.
