Want to make your baby laugh? Do the unexpected. Earlier this week I advised that it was okay to be a little goofy with your kids. Sing the songs. Read with expression. Voice each character. This dad takes that advice to heart - literally (and impressively) voicing Goofy, Minnie and Mickey Mouse as he ready a Disney board book, and reducing his infant son to gales of laughter. Watch Baby’s eyes. He’s fascinated - not with the story - but by the unexpected and hilarious sounds coming out of his father’s mouth. Is there anything better than a baby’s laughter? Well done, Dad! This goofy duo was shared to TT by kaycheebear.

I'm so glad this classic has stood the test of time! I love that they questioned one another. Rich mathematics right there.

Bears in a Cave…an oldie but a goodie…truth @DrCarriecutler! youtu.be/gNkYBZA689Q My Kinder Ss ❤️ playing this! They were not only able to play, but took turns questioning each other too. “How many bears are in the cave? How do you know?” @HooverCFISD @CFISDPK1 @CyFairISD

That's why we shouldn't continue to do things "because that's the way they've always been done." We might be missing out on some powerful pedagogy because we are afraid. And kids are the unwitting losers in that scenario.

It's Mathy May! Consider this: We know more TODAY about how kids develop, grow, and learn math than we have ever known in the history of kid-dom. The aggregation of research and wisdom about teaching is at its peak--until tomorrow when it peaks again.

An estimate is not merely a “guess.” A reasonable estimate depends upon mathematical understandings of both numerosity and measurement. Explore Estimation While Enjoying a Whopper of a Tale! ow.ly/QVTQ50hbq75
