@c_backpocket Most Tipp people would be the first to admit we’re often disappointing after winning and All Ireland. The issue with Donal Óg saying it is that he said it purely to cause outrage rather than it being actual punditry.

@Stephen_Long Not that far off. Need to close out games when they're the better team. AI minor winners last year. Young lad in the forwards could be generational talent. Future is bright. Don't think the Ballygunnar dominance of club scene good for them though.

Mad thing is Waterford are so close to being All-Ireland contenders. Beat the reigning champs last year Drew with reigning champs this year Toe to toe with Cork last week The better team in Limerick for 60 mins today Makes the constant failure in Munster even harder to take.

@strandsaint @SaintsDanSFC There's a difference between a live match open to all and a private training session where team will be practising set piece routines for their opponents in a single match.

@SaintsDanSFC What about the thousands of fans who record goals / set pieces etc on their iPhones during a match? Surely that’s spying ? Are they selling it on to next week’s opponents? UTS.

I see more & more people are starting to realise/notice that Middlesbrough FC are milking the situation to the best of their abilities... Because they are straight up sore losers. #SaintsFC

@su4eranio I think if that's proven next Tuesday, Saints get big points deduction and whoever finished 7th has case for playoff spot. Think they'll just look at Boro incident though and award Boro a 3 nil win!!

If EFL expel Soton, can only be cause they’ve done same to several clubs. If that’s the case, didn’t they only make play offs by cheating at expense of Wrexham, Derby, Norwich etc? Do they all get to sue Soton? See where I’m going? It’s just fucking ludicrous. Just move on!

@SargetheSaint What about the fans (and at least one player) making binoculars signs at the opposing fans and players!! It was so funny then!! 😁

Just looking at this from a different perspective, if and a big IF we are to be expelled from the play offs. Are #SaintsFC fans going to turn against the club? Because the ones suffering here are us the fans and the players.

@samtate How long was the spy there? No way he would’ve been there that long to pick all of that up.

Personally if Boro or any other team did what we’ve been accused of, I wouldn’t give 2 fucks! If we couldn’t beat them on the pitch, then good luck to them. Football is a dynamic game that changes throughout the game and no amount of spying is going to stop that! #SaintsFC

@COYSNZfan Well why bloody do it then when there is a specific rule against it and clearly defined sanctions for breaking that rule!! Football may be dynamic but if you had information about new free kick or corner routines, that would be invaluable.

@lauren_parker01 Against that, all clubs new the new rules and sanctions introduced after Leeds incident. Unbelievable that Saints would decide to send a bloke with an iPhone down to spy on opponents. Tough on the players though who I assume didn't have a clue what was happening!

If Boro had focused on fixtures at the end of the season; where they lost to Pompey at home 1-0 they wouldn’t be in this situation. Was second for majority of the season and suddenly a guy stood by a tree with an iPhone is the reason they aren’t getting promoted #SaintsFC

@SaintsExtra @TheAthleticFC Word is MBoro are going to get their play off without being involved anyway. Saints need to lawyer up. They'll need to be putting in appeal next week!

🚨 Middlesbrough’s request to participate in the Spygate hearing has been denied — it will only be the EFL & Southampton, which also means Boro will be unable to appeal any decision #saintsfc @TheAthleticFC

Here’s the difference. Leeds get caught spying, £200k fine. Southampton get caught spying, potentially removing us from a £180m football match and further TV and sponsorship money. The punishment difference is so vast, I can’t believe it’s even being considered. #saintsfc

@edstevo1 @JackKnutsen_ Exactly. Absolute crazy for a club to do this when they knew the rule was in place and what the punishment would be.

@JackKnutsen_ When Leeds got punished, rules got put in place to prevent this from happening again. There were no rules then, so the punishment could only be measured against what they’d had done as a principal. Now, however, rules have been broken, so punishment will and can be different.

@JackKnutsen_ There was no specific rules broken or sanctions in place when the Leeds issue incident happened. It was that that led to rule (no spying on opposition) and sanction (points deduction or forefiture of match) being put in place. Spying after that was madness.

@BrianJAFlannery Any team could fall off a cliff. Waterford are AI minor champions and have the Club AI too so hardly a danger they'll "fall off a cliff" any time soon. Their senior team need to perform outside their own patch. Beat Lim and Wford may still have a chance if Tipp beat Clare.

Munster championship works because Waterford can draw with the All-Ireland champions, put it up to the beaten finalists and compete with the 2024 Winners in Ennis If Waterford falls off a cliff …… what are you left with then ……..?
The Premier 'View'@PremierviewPod

If it’s not how the Munster championship is ran,it’s the fault of GAA plus for Waterfords Woes How about ye look internally in the county lads for clues as to how ye can better yereselves, for a change Maybe address the deficiency at underage or lack of competition in the Waterford SHC or the fall off in the schools

@RTEgaa They won the Minor All Ireland last year so things can't be that bad. Ballygunnar's dominance of club scene may not be helping them.

@KielyNeil @KieranMcC_SS There was plenty of fight and aggression looking at number of Kerry lads helped off the field after heavy hits. Issue was lack of quality in final third with approach way too cautious. How many times did we go backwards when there were chances open with more direct approach.

All over. Kerry win, again. 1-23 to 1-15. For Cork, the wait goes on. That was an 11-point turnaround in the second half.

@BrianJAFlannery He was excellent but Quaid has been too and will likely still be into July. Wford need to pick up points away from home. Clare looked very fragile v Lim. Opportunity missed for Waterford in week 1 in Ennis. Had Tipp on the rack last year but again failed to push on when on top

@CraicOfTheAsh Fair point but like Limerick v Clare last year, difficult to get same intensity when you know you're qualified. Difference is Cork not there yet. Limerick win their last two matches and Clare beat Tipp, then Clare could get to Munster final with win over Cork.

Killarney always draws a crowd. Irish Rail, Killarney pubs and Munster GAA all made a killing yesterday. But, Munster GAA being absolutely dominated by 1 county needs to bring into question what Munster GAA are doing to develop football in the province.
Eoghan Cormican@cormicaneoghan

The biggest Munster final crowd in 11 years delivered a 37% increase to the total attendance figure for this year’s provincial c'ship. Sunday’s gathering of 32,961 was just shy of the combined 33,491-figure that watched all five games in the 2025 edition. irishexaminer.com/sport/gaa/arid…

@mrcolmcrowley Trouble is that for Cork and probably the other counties too, lot of their best footballers are excellent hurlers too and will almost certainly choose the latter when choice has to be made. Brian Hayes for instance is an incredible footballer.Days of playing both codes well gone.
