Tomorrow, a few of my mates go to Vegas for a week. I was invited, 7 nights, 6k for the hotel and flights. I said no, why? Not because I can't afford it. I earn more and have less debt than most of the lads going. It's because I'm not wealthy enough to do that. All in, with spends, it would be 10-15% of our post tax household income. I can't spend 10% of that on a 7 day trip, no matter how much I want to. I'm a father of 2 looking to leave a legacy for my boys. I can't justify 10k on a week away with the lads.

I suppose you can't rule it out. But so far, I haven't seen one, and no one seems able to point convincingly to another country where they've done it. But one absolute necessity that almost everybody who thinks about it agrees on, an even greater overhaul of the planning regulations so as to permit rather than to prevent things. And yes, that comes at a cost.

If your prospectus for a new quickly achieved post Starmer Labour Britain consists of spending more on everything, significant extra state borrowing and taxing people who aren't you or the voters to pay for it, then whether you call it Manchesterism or an end to fiscal caution, you are selling snake oil

I’m surprised by this one… This is the uncomfortable reality of promotion. Players who absolutely deserve a crack at the next level don’t always get the chance. Nah this is honestly crazy… 5 YEARS AGO Ben Brookes dropped his first YouTube video titled “Road To Full Time Ball” and filmed himself doing some drills on an empty pitch and training at his house 🤯🔙 On Saturday his dreams turned into real life as he secured promotion to the EFL with York City. Moved there from Maidstone in the summer and bagged 10 G/A for York this season. Next season he’ll be playing in League 2… 🥲 He still makes vids on YT to this day and has documented his journey right from the very beginning… love to see it. Congrats bro @benbrookes___ so proud of you 👊🏽
