I dream of a new Britain. Back in the EU, using the euro, adopting the metric system, an elected upper house, PR for elections, fair media ownership, transparency in public procurement, a strong well funded military and NHS.
It can and must be the future.
@archer_rs It won’t be Britain but a subject state of the European federal state, governed by unelected Eurocrats & lobbyists. Hopefully I will be gone before there is ever a chance of this surrendering of all our rights.
Last night a couple that we’d exchanged a few pleasantries with joined us for a drink after dinner. They’re both raging RWingers & brexiteers with raging RW kids. They’re looking forward to spending time with us today.Where to hide?
PS:took 30secs for them to consider us ‘commies’
@SimmySinclair@HugoGordon1 It’s a game between 2 teams over 80minutes & the victors have won the right to celebrate.
By saying England only won because the Irish played poorly is so boorish, England stopped the Irish playing their game & exploited their weaknesses.
@HugoGordon1 Both of our fears came true. Shit show from start to finish. Why on earth they didn’t keep it in the hands of the forwards for 90 seconds to go I have no idea. What irks me more is England celebrating after scraping a win against the worst version of us.
@BreadknifeThe@HugoGordon1 Ireland never been to a WC final, but apparently the best team in the world except when it really counts when their bottle goes & of course it’s everyone else’s fault, referee, TMO dastardly opposition.
Nadine Dorries. A year's salary for doing f*ck all.
Boris Johnson £250k 'legal aid" for partygate defence.
Nadhim Zahawi 'forgets' to pay £3.7 million in taxes.
Michelle Donelan £15k libel bill, charged to taxpayers
Not one ounce of shame between them.

'This particular government has destroyed everything that we love and respect in this country.' @carolvorders
Carol Vorderman speaks about how she is a lot 'freer on social media' to criticise the Conservative government.
Bim Afolami told LBC's Andrew Marr this evening that the Conservatives would "continue along the track" of cutting taxes, and eventually want to disband National Insurance altogether.
So where will the funding for 48 new hospitals come from?
Remember that National Insurance Funds are used to pay for welfare expenditure.
National Insurance payments cannot be used directly to fund general government spending.
So how will Pensions and benefits be funded if it is abolished?
@Saleem1_Khawaja@BBCWorld Peace can’t prevail until the Arab nations accept the right of Israel to exist in its historical location.
Only when this happens & the Muslim faith accepts the rights of everyone to choose and practice their own religion will peace have a chance.
@ElliotElinor People still blaming Maggie despite the intervening 40 years. Some people need to look at the Bliar & Brown years when things could have been changed if it wasn’t for Bliar’s religious crusade against Iraq that is the cause of the current instability in the Middle East.
@BladeoftheS How can you have a definite poll without all the options being available. You really are a fool aren’t you. What about don’t want to rejoin the EU option I would happily rejoin the single market without all the federalism that the EU involves.
@Paul30609569@BladeoftheS There is a level where the rich will willingly pay their taxes but once you get above that threshold they will leave taking their investments with them. You really need to go after the corporate tax avoidance like British Gas, the water companies who avoid wcorporation tax
Lord Michael Ashcroft remained a non-dom while he was in the House of Lords and living in the UK, he paid his taxes in Belize, except he didn't because it is a Tax Haven.
He dodged up to £150m in tax, and then used millions of pounds of that to fund the Conservatives
A disgrace
@johnlew40540571@Vtone35@BladeoftheS@justified_jamms Wikipedia really that’s your source, it’s not a reliable source of any information as it’s written with specific agendas. Try a reputable source for more reliable & rounded information. The inflation was largely due to the Arab response to the Yom Kippur War.
@paulwill318@Vtone35@BladeoftheS@justified_jamms "The budget's large tax cuts led to high inflation & demands for higher wages, as well as the 1976 sterling crisis when UK was forced to ask the International Monetary Fund for financial help. It also led the Conservative Party to abandon "Post-war consensus" policies." Wikipedia
Margaret Thatcher and Nigel Lawson did incalculable damage to this country, selling off all the assets at a loss to their mates. Cutting taxes for the rich to nothing. Creating massive unemployment and inflation.
RT if you know they’re the villains
@BladeoftheS Actually it’s £666.66 a year or £10000 over £15 years which is when the BMA’s 35% argument fails the truth test. More misinformation from the numpty.
@johnlew40540571@Vtone35@BladeoftheS@justified_jamms The economy was in stagflation & stalled & it was an ambitious plan that initially worked but then failed due to the Arab oil embargo during which the oil price quadrupled It seems history does repeat. Labour came into power in Feb 74.
@BladeoftheS Islamophobia is not actually a thing but is just a made up term “A phobia is an excessive and irrational fear reaction. If you have a phobia, you may experience a deep sense of dread or panic when you encounter the source of your fear” is that what critics of Islam actually feel?
Sayeeda Warsi has called out Kemi Badenoch, who claimed that Islamophobia is a made up term.
Sayeeda Warsi explained it to Badenoch personally in detail 18 months ago.
Their lies are being uncovered by their own party.
@GMB Total hypocrisy by the posh boy, expect an employer to reply to every applicant but wouldn’t have the decency to cancel a restaurant booking which will cost the restaurant £s.
93% of Gen Z job-seekers said they haven't turned up to job interviews. With 50% saying that blanking firms on interview day was justified as companies often don't reply to job applications. Is it ever ok to not show up for a job interview?
