Xolani Khumalo faces fresh controversy over alleged assault, kidnapping and theft in Springs Xolani Khumalo, the popular host of the drug-busting television show Sizok’thola, is once again at the center of public scrutiny following allegations of assault, kidnapping, and theft during a raid in Springs, on April 24, 2025. The Nigerian Union South Africa (NUSA) alleges that Khumalo and his crew assaulted seven Nigerian nationals while officers from the South African Police Service (SAPS), who were present to conduct a drug search, reportedly failed to intervene. According to NUSA, the incident took place during a Sizok’thola operation targeting suspected drug activity. The organization has called for Khumalo’s arrest and for the suspension of the involved SAPS officers, accusing them of complicity. The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) has confirmed an ongoing investigation into the incident, which includes charges of assault, kidnapping, and theft. As of May 3, 2025, no arrests have been made. Khumalo, who was recently acquitted of murder charges in a separate 2023 case involving the death of an alleged drug dealer during a raid, continues to draw criticism for his combative tactics.
