The numbers from the trip are jarring. If they’re ready to make the Eldridge move, Giants could play Schmitt all over the infield while vets are struggling. At very least, their bench needs help, which is where Rodriguez makes a ton of sense (both were out of AAA lineup today):

Given Whisenhunt is making his scheduled start for Sac right now, McDonald is likely to go tomorrow for Giants unless somehow a bullpen game. Or as part of a bullpen game.

That's the first winless two-city trip for the Giants since 2022. They got outscored 26-9 in six games and got walked off three times. Hard to have a more painful week on the road.

The second game in Philadelphia has been postponed. It'll be a split doubleheader tomorrow, with the first game at 12:35 p.m. in Philadelphia and the second one at 5:35 p.m.

Phillies and Giants are getting postponed. There will be a doubleheader Thursday. Awaiting details.

Blade Tidwell was optioned after a heavy workload yesterday. Gregory Santos is up as a fresh arm. He was fighting for a roster spot early in the spring. Jared Oliva goes on 60-day IL to clear a spot.

Giants game got moved up 30 minutes because of the weather later in the night. First pitch is now 6:10 in Philadelphia.

The Dodgers acquired IF/OF Tyler Fitzgerald from the Toronto Blue Jays for cash considerations. To make room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers transferred RHP Landon Knack to the 60-day injured list.
