@KNBR They say this every year after they finish at or near .500. Enough with the talk and actually prove you know how to “be better”

"We just gotta be better." Heliot Ramos brushed off the notion that the Giants have been too intense during the first two games.

@gggiants @joshwertheim Personally i think those speeches are all corny, including Pences haha but they did work with him. I’d rather have players buy in to see if it works than just scoff right away though. The players haven’t proven capable of much so just try it out and see what happens

@joshwertheim @stonedbaseball Not to be that guy, but there may be a difference hearing it from a player like Pence than from a guy who’s never played/coached/managed in MLB.

@gggiants Ya I mean he’ll have to adjust to mlb players but the players have been here for years and haven’t exactly proven they can do anything besides be a .500 team. It’s on the players to actually back up what they say after the last game of every season and try something different

@stonedbaseball Yeah but it’s interesting because I’m sure speeches like that worked at Tennessee.

@EvanWebeck “Major league players” may be a stretch after their effort through two games

Tony Vitello suggested postgame that this “fire and brimstone” speech left his club too fired up and emotional. Robbie Ray dismissed that idea. “We’re all major league players.”
Evan Webeck@EvanWebeck

Buster Posey said he knew Tony Vitello was “ready to go” after his address to #SFGiants on Tuesday. I asked guys what Tony V’s message was and how he delivered it. Safe to say there will be more clubhouse speeches this year. nypost.com/2026/03/26/spo…

Does the offense have any clue how to hit? I thought making contact was their goal #SFGiants

If there was one team I’d bet on to come out of spring training with absolutely no player hot offensively it would be the #SFGiants without question. I bet even the Rockies score a run tonight 🙄

@nut_history The national anthem before a sporting event is so annoying. I just got to my seat with my beer and food I don’t want to put it on the ground now for a song that doesn’t need to be sung/played before this game. Smoke flag was dope though especially in person

The San Francisco introduced us to the smoke flag, and even though I’m not a fan of the national anthem being performed before any sporting event, this is pretty damn dope.

@gggiants I would prefer a longer leash when you really don’t know what you’re getting with the bullpen this year anyway

@schadjoe Who cares? He gets paid tons of money to be healthy and pitch for the tigers and is due even more money in the offseason. It’d be cool to see him pitch in the wbc again but his commitment to his team is more important

Joe Ryan will replace Clayton Kershaw on Team USA's WBC roster after the quarterfinal, per @BNightengale Ryan would be lined up to pitch in the championship game

Everytime a graphic puts 3 time WS winner for Kershaw it makes me laugh cuz idk anyone who did less for their titles like even Barry Zito was useful in 2012 but Kershaw gets credit as. 3 time champ when all he did was get out of the way and not pitch in the postseason 😂😂

@SleeperSFGiants If he keeps hitting like he is in the WBC the Giants offense is going to be pretty dangerous with him and Arraez as table setters 👀

@stonedbaseball @BenVerlander Don't lie. you're spouting nonsense about bonds filling japanese stadiums. you're way overestimating bonds. he's nothing but a steroid fueled cheat.

Shohei Ohtani packed an entire stadium in Japan to watch him take Batting Practice. His BP is without a doubt the most impressive BP you can ever see in person. His fans and even his peers were in awe.

@MwamSim @BenVerlander I never said anything about Japan just that Barry Bonds would be a more popular player in general if he was playing in the present than Ohtani currently is. Ohtani would obviously be more popular in Japan due to him being from there but in mlb Bonds would be the biggest star

@stonedbaseball @BenVerlander It is ridiculous for you a foreigner, to talk about japan to me, a pure japanese. there is absolutely no way that the popularity of americans who are addicted to steroids will be greater than that of the japanese who churn out home runs with pure strength.
