@doctorORbust @OslersBeast I used to be on the insurance the ProPublica piece called out. My derm sent a letter saying I’d failed 3 other drugs, he was a specialist, plz cover the expensive med. Got a rejection saying I needed to fail at least 2 drugs & the prescription needed to come from a specialist.

@OslersBeast One time I was told there was no peer to peer and I needed to send a letter to a P.O. Box 🙃

I got an insurance letter that they’re denying the only FDA approved drug for a rare disease based on their “expert review,” sir/madam I work at a place that writes expert opinions and was part of the FDA approval for said disease. It’s an easy but stupid (time wasting) appeal.

It bears repeating that you CAN get a shingles vaccine before 50 - especially if you’re immunocompromised or have a family history of early onset. It was also covered fully by my insurance. Ask your doctor!

Sad day today. Had to let my cat Lancelot join his sister in kitty heaven. He had stage 3 kidney disease and had stopped eating. He's not pain any more. I'll miss you buddy.
