@vurnt22 yep. i was just telling this to a friend the other night. people say tony and elvin played loud, but that was nothing compared to the average loud drummer by today’s standards.

60’s & 70’s Loud was fundamentally different than 80’s, 90’s & aughts loud tho. As soundsystems became more efficient, the quotient of possible brutality rose as well. Those 808 kick drums could send you into cardiac arrest. I could feel my sternum being threatened in NJ.
