@AlertaMundoNews This isn’t just a feel-good story.
China needs to take this issue seriously and work toward higher ethical standards, especially when it comes to the treatment of animals.
Without that, stories like this will keep happening.

@sathyashrii While this may seem like a heartwarming story, the real issue shouldn’t be ignored.
China needs to take this seriously and continue strengthening its standards around ethics and animal welfare.
Lasting change depends on a deeper commitment to how animals are treated.

In China’s Jilin province, seven neighboring dogs stolen for sale at a dog meat market escaped from a transport truck — and their journey home has captured attention online.
Reports say the dogs stayed together during the escape, with an injured German Shepherd protected by the group, while a corgi appeared to guide them.
Over two days, they traveled around 17 km across roads and fields before eventually making it back to their owners.
A real-life escape story — with a touch of movie-like moments.

@Yoda4ever Calling this a heartwarming story misses the point.
China needs to seriously reflect and improve its ethical standards, particularly in how animals are treated.

@positivityofx This isn’t just a heartwarming story — it highlights a serious problem.
These dogs were stolen, and that should never be normalized.
Real change must come from within China itself, with stricter laws, enforcement, and a stronger commitment to animal welfare.

@tutone4real @OOCAnimaI Being alone for a while is part of how he learns to fit in — it’s not the same as being abandoned.

@jamilyn_n @Petswithaura They are fed vegetables, fruits, grains and special primate pellets, which is standard for macaques in zoos. The enclosure is a rocky “monkey hill” with structures for climbing. It’s not just cement, although the ground may look that way in some videos.
English

@Petswithaura What are they being fed? Do they not have any greenery or is it all cement?

Japanese society is so civilized that the fires simply drive themselves to the fire station
eric ゑリッ久@shinobu_books
Biggest story in Japan right now is this mobile roasted sweet potato truck catching on fire, blasting full speed through red lights and driving right up to the fire station. These sometimes drive thru my hood, albeit in less gaudy trucks.
English

@PoromaMunshi @Vinod_r108 That’s true, he doesn’t have his mother, which makes things harder. But that’s also why the keepers are trying to help him integrate into the troop. For macaques, learning to live with the group is the only long-term way to survive.
English

@pb355h @Vinod_r108 Big difference between Punch and other little monkeys. Others can run to their mother for comfort. Who does Punch have to run to?
English

@yammakazoo @PoromaMunshi @Vinod_r108 Rejection by a mother happens in many animal species and doesn’t mean the infant is different. Young macaques are often chased or corrected as they learn social rules. Recently he has also been seen sitting near others and receiving grooming, which are signs of gradual integratio
English

@pb355h @PoromaMunshi @Vinod_r108 He isn’t being accepted by the troop. Also, was rejected by his mother which would suggest maybe he’s just different. They can sense it, so they pick on him.
English

@yammakazoo @PoromaMunshi @Vinod_r108 Actually, raising him with humans would make things worse. Japanese macaques must learn social rules from other macaques. If he grows up around humans instead, he may never be accepted by the troop.
English

@pb355h @PoromaMunshi @Vinod_r108 He clearly doesn’t belong there. Was raised by humans and very clearly feels more comfortable with them.
