🚨🚮 An update on the works and the litter bin at Lumb Lane Playing Fields. 🚮🚨
United Utilities are continuing their work on site to help reduce storm overflows into Micker Brook.
Over the coming weeks, residents may notice more vehicle movements, however work will be limited to 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday.
✅ Following resident feedback, I have secured a temporary litter bin at the entrance to the playing fields which will be installed by UU soon.
💙 I’ll continue to monitor progress and keep residents updated as the work moves forward.

NEW: On the Ground (OTG)
Today I’m launching a new explainer on local politics.
🗣️On the Ground is about pulling back the curtain on how local government actually works:
the decisions, the process, the scrutiny and the reality behind local politics.
✅Too often, people only see the headlines, the roadworks or the final decisions, but not what actually happens behind the scenes inside a council.
This channel is about explaining that clearly and honestly to my residents and beyond.
Episode 1 looks at:
✅ Why I didn’t need to stand in this year’s local elections
✅ How metropolitan council elections actually work
✅ What the Stockport results mean
✅ What happens behind the scenes after election night
✅ Why scrutiny and opposition matter
If you’ve ever wondered how local politics really works behind the scenes, I think you’ll enjoy it.

🤔 Over the past few weeks there has been a lot of confusion about why my name did not need to be on the ballot paper last Thursday.
📝 So I’ve decided to launch a new series of explainers, bringing residents closer to how local elections and local government works.
🗣️ I hope I can open the curtain for residents across Bramhall, Cheadle Hulme and Woodford and give you more access to how decisions are made across Stockport
🚨 Here’s a 2 minute intro -

⛔️ The green bin service has been nothing short of disastrous over the past 4 weeks. Our council has overseen an administrative disaster and it has to be fixed and urgently.
✍️ I have written to both the cabinet member responsible and the Chief Executive of the council asking for urgent answers and most importantly, action!

⛔️ *Update* – Queensgate / Woodford Road Junction Potholes
Contractors have attended but have not yet been able to complete the permanent repair.
✅ A temporary fix has been put in place to keep the area safe, and I’m now awaiting a confirmed return date for full completion.
I will update again as soon as I have this.
Thanks for your patience.

🚍 Progress on Bringing Back the 307/308 Bus Service
⌚️Over recent months, I’ve been working hard behind the scenes to push for the return of the 307/308 bus service, a route that so many residents across Bramhall, Cheadle Hulme and Woodford rely on.
✅ I’m pleased to confirm that senior executives from Transport for Greater Manchester have now agreed to meet with me here in Bramhall to discuss how we can make this happen.
This is a really important step forward.
🏥 Restoring this service would improve connections to Stepping Hill Hospital, support residents without access to a car, and help ease pressure on local roads.
I will be making the strongest possible case on your behalf and pushing for a clear plan to bring the service back.
I’ll keep you fully updated following the meeting

⏰ CLOCKS GO FORWARD TONIGHT! ⏰
Don’t forget — the clocks go forward by 1 hour at 1:00am (becoming 2:00am) tonight.
Yes, we lose an hour of sleep… 😴
But the trade-off is worth it 👇
🌅 Longer, brighter evenings
🌼 Spring is here
☀️ Summer is on the way
Lighter nights mean more time outdoors, more time with family, and a real boost for our community.
➡️ Make sure you change your clocks before bed!

🚧 A555 NIGHT-TIME CLOSURE – THURSDAY NIGHT 🚧
Following post-storm weather inspections, officers have taken the decision to bring forward essential highway drain cleaning works on the A555.
To allow this to be carried out safely, there will be a full closure in both directions between the Oil Terminal (Roy Chadwick Way / Poynton Bypass) and the A34:
🕙 From 10pm on Thursday 26th March
🕕 Reopening before 6am on Friday 27th March
🛠️ While the road is closed, additional reactive highway maintenance repairs will also be completed.
This is proactive work to improve drainage following recent storms and help reduce future issues.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

📞We’ve recently been contacted by a number of residents who were concerned about the daffodils planted here at Lumb Lane Park by the Friends of Lumb Lane group, and whether they would be affected by the ongoing United Utilities works.
💰I’m pleased to say that we’ve met with United Utilities, who have confirmed that hoarding will be installed next week. Importantly, they have also committed to funding and replanting new bulbs to replace every daffodil at the park entrance once the works are complete.
🌼In the meantime, I’ve been working with the Friends of Lumb Lane group and Sustainable Bramhall. Together, we’ve agreed that the existing daffodils will be carefully lifted, bundled, and donated to local care homes across Bramhall, helping to brighten the day for some of our elderly residents.
🌼 Once the works are finished, the area will be fully restored, with a fresh display of beautiful daffodils for everyone to enjoy.
