🥧 Happy Pi Day! Whether our students are calculating the circumference of a circle or just calculating how many slices of pie they can eat, it’s a great day for math (and dessert) in the School District of Palm Beach County. Today we celebrate the beauty of mathematics and the critical thinking skills our students use every day. If you didn't know: Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. Pi, the Greek letter “π,” is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant- the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, which is approximately 3.14159.

School District of Palm Beach County Student Summer 2026 Internship Applications now available 📣 The application window opens today and will close on Sunday, April 5. This opportunity is open to current high school juniors or graduating seniors from the School District of Palm Beach County, as well as School District of Palm Beach County graduates who are currently enrolled in a college or university. You can earn $15 per hour while working with District staff in a variety of fields. From IT, to the classroom, School Police, and everything in between, the experience will help you learn real-world skills and prepare for future careers. MAKING MAGICAL MUSIC 🎶🌟 Congratulations to Wynnebrook Elementary School music teacher Sherry Hall, who received the Educator of the Year Award during the 11th annual Educator Night at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. She has been with the District for more than a decade, and has always loved music. “It is an honor to receive this award. During the March 11 School Board meeting, the Board recognized several community partners for their support and involvement with the Weitz Construction Academy at Seminole Ridge Community High School. 🔨🏠 Students are taught about construction techniques and learn about giving back to the community, as they build homes for Habitat for Humanity. The students recently delivered their 12th Habitat for Humanity home. The District is proud to recognize the community partners who make this work possible, including Habitat for Humanity of Greater Palm Beach County, The Weitz Company, and Porter Architects.

During the March 11 School Board meeting, the Board recognized Coral Sunset Elementary School and Crestwood Middle School for being named 2026 Exceeding Expectations Award Schools by the East Coast Technical Assistance Center. Selected out of more than 3,400 schools across the state of Florida, schools receive the award for demonstrating exceptional progress in enhancing achievement for all students. Both schools credit their teachers, students, and families for working together to achieve this designation. Congratulations!

💫Another successful food distribution at Barton Elementary School! 🥫 🍎 Recently, we had the privilege of giving back to our community in a big way. Together, we distributed an incredible 24,000 pounds of food to families in need! This would not have been possible without the amazing teamwork and dedication of our Palm Beach Schools Police Department, Restoration Bridge International, Education Foundation of Palm Beach County and the incredible staff at Barton Elementary School.
