The Speaker Lists About 50B of Illegal Payments Amidst Local Workers’ Suffering and Neglect The Osun State House of Assembly has raised alarm over illegal payments and handling of billions of naira from Osun local government fund by court sacked APC chairmen through the alleged machinations of Blue Economy minister, Gboyega Oyetola and the United Bank for Africa (UBA). The House condemned and decried reports of billions of naira of Local Government funds been paid out under the alleged directive of Mr Gboyega Oyetola such as: 1. N25m payment to each of the 30 illegal APC chairmen; 2. N12m payment to each of the 30 illegal APC Vice Chairmen; 3. N10m payment to each of the 332 APC Councilors; 4. N130m each, to selected traditional rulers in Osun State; 5. N13B legal fees payment to Layonu and co, lawyers representing the illegal chairmen and councilors as 15% of deposited funds. @UBAGroup is an international bank and should consider the implication of handing Osun LGs fund to people already sacked on its global reputation. The bank should reject an attempt by desperate people to corner public fund. Nothing must happen to Osun peoples money

It is important to reiterate to @UBAGroup that any attempt to release the Osun local government fund currently subject of litigation at the Supreme Court will cause serious harm to the reputation of the bank. There are subsiding court orders for continuous freezing of the account until the determination of the court. @TonyOElumelu and the @UBAGroup must continue to resist every pressure from political actors to access the fund before the Supreme Court sitting coming up in the 7th October. We must insist on total adherence to rule of law and constitutional democracy.

Dear @TonyOElumelu, the money domiciled in @UBAGroup is Osun people fund and you must ensure that no cent of that money is handed to private individuals already sacked by the court. That will not only hurt your bank's reputation but you will be liable to refund the money.
