If you didn't know, P4E is a program of @1000oregon that was launched around getting RIP passed. In keeping with our original plan and in alignment with Oregon’s 19 land use goals, we’ve decided to sunset Portland for Everyone as a program name, but not as an idea. (2/5)

What does this mean for #Oregon ? Communities now have more options to build housing that meets the needs (in both size and price) of Oregonians — from new families to young fresh-out-of-college grads to elderly people that want to age in place. #Housing #HousingCrisis

No law should require someone to pay for parking spaces they don't need. Oregon just slashed parking requirements statewide <3 bit.ly/3nhOUpC

We did it, Portland! As of this morning, the Residential Infill Project (RIP) passed 3-1. You haven't heard from us in a while — but we've been engaged with the Residential Infill Project through @1000oregon. (1/5)

Build more roads, get more driving. Build more lanes, get more driving. Build “better cars,” get more driving. Build ride-hailing, get more driving. Build more sprawl, get more driving. If you REALLY want less traffic, build cities & pricing differently. pic.twitter.com/BYR1uqOcmD

Why housing shortages hurt even well-off homeowners: 1) High housing costs worsen traffic 2) Employers need workers at all wage levels 3) Cost-burdened people buy less stuff npr.org/local/305/2020…

But Portland is working on it where other cities in the U.S. are failing to pass meaningful legislation: the Residential Infill Project represents a good first step to addressing both concerns through expanded #HousingChoices.

Not only did Portland not build enough housing units to meet the needs of Portlanders — but we've also failed on the affordability front. The costs to both rent and buy skyrocketed in the past decade.

"Cities are the perfect place to focus on this smart climate solution, especially while federal action is lagging. Across the nation, cities are taking action, policy by policy and street by street, in ways that add up to big climate impacts."

Happy Birthday to the first lady of civil rights, Rosa Parks. In her honor, we joined a group of individuals and organizations requesting that every February 4th in the Metro area (starting in 2021) would be a free transit day.

Unsurprisingly, people want to move to #PDX (because it's awesome here). To create a space for ALL (and that means all) of the people that do and will call Portland home we need to act ASAP since we've got a lot of catching up to do.
