In 1993, a local Chicago reporter covering the St. Patrick's Day parade spotted Tommy Lee Jones filming a movie amidst the festivities and stopped him for a quick interview. The movie was THE FUGITIVE 🔥

@NoelRock @GavinBarwell @SpanbergerForVA @MikieSherrill Hmm. I think it’s worth bearing in mind the general, and improbable, rise of Mamdani through the primaries too. With the vote I think you also need to factor in the republicans basically coalesced around Cuomo too. I also appreciate this isn’t the point of the thread 😂😂

@SuzyJourno Hmm. If SF had run a candidate (say Mary Lou?) they most likely would have won this easily… so seems like a missed opportunity for them?

SF has played a blinder. FF, FG & many in the media mocked Mary Lou McDonald for her “game-changer” announcement on the Irish presidential election. But the party's decision not to run & to back Catherine Connolly has been truly transformative.🧵(1/2) belfasttelegraph.co.uk/opinion/news-a…

#Áras25 Twitter is split between “my candidate’s a hero” from proxies and “they’re all duds” from the sceptics. No room for nuance.

Finally got to admire the @businessposthq’s dishy new newsroom (as opposed to old-oldsroom?) in my first reporting shift today in the new digs. (Move in happened last week: I was by a pool in Italy.) Friday’s when I’ll discover if you can finish a news shift there at 7 pm and be on an 8:10 flight to London. Watch this space.

@MiguelDelaney Delighted with this transfer, is this one to cover the LW/ST gap or could there be one more transfer to Arsenal? Eze doesn’t seem an out and out LW.

One last piece from Portrush - This is one of my favourite Rory McIlroy stories, though it's not really about Rory McIlroy at all. (Free to read) Rory McIlroy’s Portrush gesture completes one man’s 19-year journey to replace what was lost the42.ie/6768794

Met a lady outside RTÉ trying to get in to do her shopping in the Lidl on the Fair City set this evening. It’s listed on Google Maps. I gave her directions to Tesco.

@BrophShane To be fair he acknowledges it’s big in Tipp or Cork but outside of that, it doesn’t feel as big as it should be. Even his point about the All Ireland final next year clashing with the World Cup Final, seems short sighted.
