Topped off a fine week with the family in Montana & Wyoming today. Headed back to the pecan orchards of Georgia tomorrow.

The only places in the world that can rival epic snow dumps like this are places such as the Cascades, Japan and the Chugach Mountains, but currently they do not have nearly as much snow on the ground as the Sierra. There is also a big difference between glaciers and snow.

California's Sierra Nevada range 80 days ago versus today. These mountains likely currently hold the biggest snowpack on the planet.

Pretty calm day today. Nice hike up to the Boulder River. Didn’t catch any and didn’t fish long because thunder was getting close. We cut it short but had a fun day. Beautiful area

@keeper_orchard That is awesome - not as crowded as the valley- Now I love Tuolumne Meadows too- you need to get you backpacking gear together- the John Muir Trail and pacific Crest Trail goes right through there - Walk over Soda Springs and the rock cottage
