@HighKoalas @ChikinTX @anramsE The downside is that this keeps a lot of pedestrians and visitors from using them (or even knowing about them!) IMO a lot more storefronts would succeed in there if they were more accessible.

@HighKoalas @ChikinTX @anramsE They do! Most of the major buildings downtown have an access point inside the building (or garage), but there's only a handful of ways to get in from the sidewalk.

@ChikinTX @HighKoalas @anramsE To add: a good chunk of them are just for the Baker St jail and courts, and the Houston tunnels at 6 miles length are less than a third of Toronto's 19 miles of pedestrian tunnels.

@ChikinTX @HighKoalas @anramsE Everyone says this, but as someone who worked downtown for several years the tunnels are nowhere near as extensive or populated as you'd like to believe. It's more like a small dead mall with a food court.
