I grew up in Flint…. Most of those homes are not livable. Aside from the pipes being lined with corroded lead, houses sit abandoned for years then any copper piping is ripped from the walls illegally at night by people trying to make a few bucks at the junkyard. Some of these houses have burned and are unsafe structures. Many are contaminated with mold, meth and any other substance you can imagine. When GM closed their factories in the area back in the early 00s that tanked the local economy and took most of the available jobs. The water crisis is still not resolved btw…

Kids today say houses are unaffordable But I can find 20+ properties for under $100,000 in the Midwest But you won’t move to a small quiet town not on the coast
