Every day we tell our dogs how much we love them. They are everything to us and they depend on us for everything. Live and love in the moment

I've got enough experience doing this to know that it's probably going to be weeks rather than months for Mr. Atlas. Our wonderful house dog at @wearehappydoggo has had two huge operations and we've given him every chance imaginable. I've just noticed in the past few days that his energy levels have dropped. He's taken an extra hour in his bed. He's having longer lounges on the couch. His energy has dipped and his eyes are just that little bit cloudy. that has all been confirmed by blood work and lots of different tests. We are a rescue and ultimately we're judged on how many dogs we can save. I always knew that it would be a quality of life thing with Atlas and that ultimately we would not be able to give him a long life. I do happen to believe, though, that the work we do in making these dogs happy at the end of their lives is just as important as anything else we do at scale. Atlas is still at that stage where he has great spurts of energy and goes on walks and looks for attention from all his favorite humans. We'll wrap him up in cotton wool, pamper him, shower him in love and get him all the meds he can have. No stone will go unturned to make sure Atlas continues to live his dream life while he can. I always say that dogs live in the moment. Atlas can't remember his horrid times on the streets or his massive tumor that he carried around for years. All he knows is the love, attention, great food, and wonderful life he will have today. Every other day will be a bonus and we’ll be with him every step of the way ❤️

Like the 75y/o woman I know who is very vocal about politics but hadn't heard of 'elections by thirds' until Friday, so didn't know why Reform wasn't running her local authority.

@SimonHarrisMBD There’s obvs an issue with educating people on the differences. Why can’t this be communicated better? It can’t be difficult to make a couple of public information films educated people on what they vote for & how it works. Voting isn’t just for the intelligent so why not help?

Even the most ignorant bigot will get cross when the problems are literally on their doorstep.

@dave43law @DavidJo59934351 They think Reform will control many councils tomorrow - entirely possible, but when we look at the ones they already control that’s not going to worry Keir. Mid-term local elections are expected to bring bad results for the party in power, but won’t impact that party nationally.

Let my other boy be ok, this is unbearable. Losing Charlie is still so raw and now Alfie has a grade 3 heart murmur. He's seeing the cardiologist in a week... it's like being in a nightmare 😢.

@JackAndTimos Aw, we knew something was very wrong when our boy didn't come for his dinner 11 days ago. We lost him that afternoon to haemangiosarcoma. He's telling you, it's awful and my heart breaks for you and him 💔🐾

I’m watching my baby Jack slip away, and my heart is breaking into pieces. I made him homemade pasta al forno, hoping he’d eat something, anything… but he just isn’t interested. I feel so helpless. 💔

@Qbert33 @EstieMaddie Every child in my generation had measles, mumps and chicken pox. These conditions ran through our schools yearly with up to 25% of the class absent at times. They ran their course and the kids returned to school healthy and immunized. No jab. Just nature and common sense

On Tuesday Cooper had been happily playing in the garden sprinkler. Today we’ve said goodbye. Didn’t eat his food yesterday, so trip to vets and CT scan found a mass in his spleen. During surgery discovered he was riddled with nodules. All very sudden. Devastated.

@gena1122334 @mjbjes @markjohnoneill Thank you, we lost the older one to haemangiosarcoma 8 days ago. It still doesn't feel real, as it's just such a sudden loss. He went from seemingly healthy to gone in 4 hours, most of that spent at the vets.

@gena1122334 @mjbjes @markjohnoneill Little and large almost 8 years ago, the temptation to get another is so great but we've said we won't. Two dogs and a puppy with our own health issues would be unfair to everyone involved. 🐾❤️

@gena1122334 @mjbjes @markjohnoneill I hope you're right, his breeder had heard of it but didn't mention ever having had a dog with it which makes us feel better. They're fabulous dogs, and with the right diet, exercise and healthcare I have seen them live to 17! We also have an American Cocker, mad as a hatter 😂❤️

@mjbjes @gena1122334 @markjohnoneill We lost a Cavalier King Charles to it, it's not common in them but older dogs in general are more prone to it. It's frightening as we have his brother and there may be a genetic component. He was 10, not really old, his brother is almost 8. Horrific cancer as there's no warning.

@gena1122334 @markjohnoneill Sadly, it's a fairly common cancer in the breed. Lost our last GR to it 10 years ago. I get our current 9 y/o Golden blood work 2x year in hopes of catching any cancer early. Lots of research going on in the breed with cancer, but no breakthroughs as yet.
