@egapnala65 Thankfully we're about 800 miles south of the flooding (Queensland is more than twice the size of Texas...). The flooding looks pretty bad, though, so I hope things improve soon.

The ‘hostile environment’ took its toll at Womad this weekend - a number of events were seriously affected by visa refusals. By definition a Festival of World Music requires visas for many bands. What on Earth is the Home Office doing refusing them? Is music the new enemy?

@Popher Oak isn't generally discussed as part of terroir with wines either, but perhaps it should be too. I think there have been a few papers (eg onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.100… by Régis Gougeon et al) that attempt to distinguish oak regions in wine.
