Excited to share our latest📰 where we integrate taxonomic, phylogenetic, and functional diversity of cave-associated 🦇 in 🇧🇷. Understanding these 3⃣dimensions together gives a much richer picture of what’s truly at stake for conservation. 📰🔎link.springer.com/article/10.100…

Our paper on rodent thumbnails is out! Huge team effort. Turns out, nails can reveal a lot about rodent evolution. Shoutout to Dr. Gordon Shepherd for the wild idea to study their thumbs!
Science Magazine@ScienceMagazine

New findings in Science suggest that rodents owe much of their evolutionary success to their thumb-nail (the first digit, D1), an adaptation that gave them dexterous hands for cracking seeds and nuts. Learn more in this week's issue: scim.ag/4lYCdxp

The new book Doctors by Nature "invites deeper reflection on what it means to medicate, how landscapes shape access to medicine, and whether we humans are as discerning in our self-medicating choices as our nonhuman counterparts." Read the #ScienceBooks Review: scim.ag/4hGvnKS
