@claracrocs @rhayorbadmus No one will tell you, but this post makes no sense and does not hold water. The issue is that you don't have the capital to stock the original not that I can't afford it, people are buying the original. Oro oshi lo so yi with no due respect observed.

There’s this couple that lives two houses away from my house. Every evening around 6pm, the husband comes back from work. Before he even enters the house, he honks lightly not aggressively just one soft beep. And without fail, his wife comes out to meet him at the gate. Not because she has to. Not because he can’t open it himself. But because she wants to. One day I was close enough to notice something. She had flour on her hands. She was clearly cooking. Yet she still ran out, wiped her hands on her apron, and met him halfway. He stepped out of the car smiling like he hadn’t seen her in years. No big drama. No over-the-top romance. He just held her face for a second and said, “Welcome back to me.” And she laughed like it was the first time he ever said it. They’ve been married for over 20 years. But the way that man looks at her? Like he still can’t believe she chose him. And the way she waits for that soft horn every evening? Like it’s her favorite part of the day. That’s when I realized… Maybe marriage isn’t about grand gestures. Maybe it’s about someone who still feels like home every single day.🥺

If carrying tissue paper as a man makes me “walk like a lady,” then maybe more men need to start walking like one. Often times I get irritated when workmates joke about why I walk around with tissue paper in my pocket. This was me at the bank yesterday, and honestly, I don’t care what anyone thinks. I will never use a public toilet without properly covering it. I also hate when I use the WC and the water splashes back. That’s uncomfortable and unhygienic to me. As a man, my personal hygiene is not something I joke with. Even after urinating, I don’t just shake and walk away. No matter how you shake it, there is still a drop that ends up on your boxers and I hate that. So yes, I walk around with tissue paper in my pocket. I shake, I dab, and I wash properly. That is also one reason I am careful with random handshakes. I have seen a guy blow his nose into the air and used his cloths to wipe his hands, just for minutes later stretch the same hand out to greet someone. That alone changed my perspective. I even tell my friends I sometimes feel more comfortable shaking a lady’s hand not because of gender, but because many men were raised to believe hygiene is “optional” for us. But here’s the truth: Hygiene has no gender. Cleanliness is not feminine. And taking care of yourself is not weakness, it is discipline. If carrying tissue in my pocket makes you laugh, that is fine. I would rather be laughed at for being too clean than be comfortable being careless. At the end of the day, masculinity is not measured by how dirty you can tolerate being, it is measured by how responsible you are with yourself. Cleanliness is self-respect. And selfrespect never goes out of style. Cc

Why do Christian women in public office in Nigeria dress as Muslims? Is it inferiority complex, or what exactly? Acceptability or the new norm? From your first lady down to female senators, members of the House and female ministers. What manner of acculturation is that?

That’s not what this trend is about and I’m honestly sick and tired of male centered women forcing themselves into every space meant to highlight women’s independence and success. A trend about women breaking limits set by patriarchy is not your cue to repackage the most basic, patriarchy approved end goal and call it empowerment. Marriage has been pushed down women’s throats for generations stop trying to sneak it back in as if it’s revolutionary.

When I was in Nigeria, I never missed my monthly tithe. When I got to the UK, I sent tithe to my home church about twice, then stopped. My mom called me about not sending tithe to the home church anymore. I told her we don’t pay tithe in the UK, and even offering isn’t compulsory. I also told her we eat every Sunday, and there’s a place you can pick up free food if you don’t have any at home. All the tithe we paid in church in Nigeria where did it go? There was never a time we had food for the poor or a room where food was kept. Isn’t that the essence of tithe? Her response was: “You are backsliding.” 😂
