@testtubetango @Tiger5862 which ultimately means accepting criticism and using it to inspire change in your self and your work! this includes ccs!!

@testtubetango @Tiger5862 the reason why i am defending it is because i believe there are bnfs (big name fans) which often escape criticism in their work and if we want to make this place more inclusive (which i genuinely do!) i want more people to work at including good representation.

anyway i think fanfics are super cool and we should not be accusing people who give us their writing FOR FREE of being weird/discriminatory

@testtubetango @Tiger5862 even if they were accusing the author, it’s not a crime to say that someone has subconscious bias or has put micragressions in their work. i’m sure a lot of young white authors have. its good for allies to be able to level that criticism @ authors as i hope it inspires reflection

@testtubetango @Tiger5862 i saw the original tweets and i don’t think the people in question were actively accusing the author more like negatively discussing the way fans of the fan fiction talk about it like it’s some seminal work. while it’s certainly not kind, i wouldn’t describe that as accusatory

this is soooo sweet :’) thank u i do try to ground my opinions in material reality and put my politics first!! in general, i think twt is the worst place to have serious discussions, but if someone genuinely wants to have one with me im more than open to it in dms :)
