I’m going to say this bluntly, because sugarcoating it hasn’t fixed anything. Some of you don’t want community. You want leverage. I built everything I have from the ground up. No connections. No handouts. No safety net of “bigger friends” to pull me up. Just me, my content, and the people who chose to stay. I started alone at least two years ago, and while I am no LONGER alone, (I love so many of you, you're fucking amazing and have helped me more than I can ever describe), they did not handle my content, streams, or setups for me. I did it. So when I say I can tell the difference between someone who cares and someone who’s calculating their next move, I mean it. I’ve watched people walk into my space, call me their “best friend,” hype me up, sit in my streams, talk about “supporting each other” and the second they get what they need? They disappear. Or worse, they start acting very passive aggressively towards you, nitpicking everything you do, even being nasty or rude towards your other friends. They start talking horribly behind your back, refusing to talk to you about whatever's upsetting them. And it’s exhausting, because I want to believe in people. I choose to believe in people. I support others because I genuinely care, not because I expect a return. But some of you see kindness and immediately think it's an opportunity. You DM for collabs when it benefits you. You vanish when it doesn’t. You follow hoping for a follow back, then dip when you don’t get it fast enough. That’s not networking. That’s not friendship. That’s not community. That’s using people. And yes, people notice. You might think you’re being subtle, but patterns show. Names repeat. Stories line up. The same behavior leaves the same damage everywhere it goes. The truth is, we’re all small at some point. We’re all trying to grow. But there’s a difference between growing with people, and growing through them. One builds something real. The other leaves a trail of burned bridges behind you. I’m not a stepping stone. I’m not a tool. And neither is anyone else here. We are creators. We are people. We are equals. Act like it.
