@Slayer192845_ To be fair it's totally out of context haha. The new I/O board wasn't plugged in. They fixed it right away, I just saw the opportunity to be silly
@spugDDR@bromid Yeah, I realized I was cheating myself when I used to quit out because I was assuming I didn't also need to practice the rest of the chart...conserving energy is the only merit quitting out has, but I'd argue that it's more efficient practice to also train stamina while grinding
@perrotta_rob@bromid I've found that as long as running out of energy/stamina isn't of concern, playing the "bad" playthroughs to the end always makes the grind more productive than stopping after every mistake
@bromid I think too much emphasis on the goal is probably also no good. Most of us forget that great scores are a byproduct of countless hours of practice, dedication and hard work. Using grinding as a shortcut is much less effective than falling in love with the process of improving
@bromid I think the negativity primarily comes from quitting out once the goal becomes unreachable. When you do that, you are creating an unrealistic standard for yourself and reinforcing this idea that you are failing to meet your goal. That's frustrating as hell. Play the whole song!
I'm getting there! This is a really difficult goal I've set out to accomplish, but I feel my mind and body getting stronger each session. These two songs have never been easier for me to play and it's really fun and cool.
It's happening!!
My performance at TBD4 got me hyped to try harder than ever at dance games and fitness. I'm gonna do my best to reach new heights, and document the process on here. To that end, here's some scores I got after coming home :)
@RuanTheDon You're right, the marvelous window literally is tighter if you don't adjust. You'll end up only getting early marvelouses because you aren't stepping in the middle of the window. If you do adjust, you'll also overadjust sometimes which is why you get slows even though it's late.
