@andruyeung How about donating to your local homeless shelter, or a surprise visit to an elderly family member, or paying for the groceries of the family in line behind you.

Some things actually worth the money:
- House cleaner
- Personal training
- Premium bedding
- A good accountant
- Insane family vacations
- Gifts for day one friends
- High-quality camera ($2,000+)
- Public speaking coaching/improv
- All-inclusive gym (Equinox, Lifetime)
- The best headphones money can buy
- Buying every book recommended to you
- Social club (NYC/London/Paris/Tokyo/Hong Kong)
- Top-of-the-line espresso machine (Breville: ~$1,000)

@citchmook I'm sorry but that is too much about him. The team needs to be laser focused and organized going into the playoffs. Gabe needs to work through the summer and genuinely join as a contributor. Too much of a hype/fan focused move. If this doesn't improve our cup run, step back

@DNVR_Rudo With a dozen games to go and 3-4 key new depth players, I'm all for Bednar iterating on lines to engage each key asset and get the line combos tested. imo, it's very unlikely that Dallas will stumble enough to lose home ice advantage.

@Norm_Corn @evanrawal And is someone paying him to put it on too thick?
English

@DNVR_Avalanche so, you're reinforcing why we traded you away. No ownership, never me/us.
English

@AdoHernandez27 @MChrisbbennett Agreed, feels more like a clear-headed decision that factored history into the equation but took it as one factor, not a constraint. That's what you want from a GM.
English

I think that’s a little extreme. As stated both sides were entitled to their actions. Avs wanted Mikko to sign, he wanted to push negotiations down the road. Avs didn’t want to risk that and saw an opportunity.
Unexpected yes but idk about ruthless. It is and has been a business and everyone involved knows that especially during negotiations.
English

Mikko was really hammering home his side of the story yesterday. My stance has been and still is that both sides were entitled to their actions.
It does sound like Colorado was ready to move on unless they could get a deal done earlier than Mikko expected.
Pushing negations to the wire is a tactic that appears to have pushed MacFarland more towards a trade rather than a re-signing. Add to that Carolina putting Necas on the table and here we are.
Good to know that Mikko met with management face-to-face but that meeting must not have sold McFarland.

@BlurryFlurries @evanrawal 50% retained, not exactly an expensive transaction for the current cup run. The sell off of our draft prospects is a clear indication of a bet on a 2-3 year window to run hard and another cup or two.
English

@evanrawal This is why the “price” means fuck all. It’s about winning now. Thats it.
English

@MartinGTobias Commercial license waste follows the same pattern - definitely 15-25% of paid users are no shows on activity logs on every SaaS I've developed over the yearz...
English

Uhm bad for big saas. If you are a startup do not sell stuff people don’t use. It will come back to bite you

HUD completed the same audit. Initial findings on paid software licenses: - 35,855 ServiceNow licenses on three products; only using 84 - 11,020 Acrobat licenses with zero users - 1,776 Cognos licenses; only using 325 - 800 WestLaw Classic licenses; only using 216 - 10,000 Java licenses; only using 400 All are being fixed.

@citchmook Necas is a major improvement in our power play, he is so good at zone entry and has a strong interior shot. That alone is a game changer for the AVS performance - it will be unpredictable how the AVS enter and shift around. Mikko was always too predictable and kind of sluggish.
English

@spittinchiclets The AVS get the fastest skater in NHL, to pair with Mackinnon and Makar. Rantannen won't be as scoring prolific and the AVS net $6M in cap space. More moves ahead. I love Mikko but it's a smart move to trigger the AVS and reassemble without copying the Leafs mistakes.
