We are honoured that the British Library has curated a special exhibition all about Stampex as part of its Philatelic Collections. Just 1.4 miles from the Business Design Centre (1 stop on the Northern Line/15 mins on the bus), the British Library is not to be missed if you are in London for Stampex. On entry, take the first staircase in front of you and you’ll find The Philatelic Exhibition – frames of beautiful curated displays, and the Stampex display!   For those who can’t make it to the British Library in person, curator, Richard Scott Morel has prepared a 100 page display promoting treasures of the British Library’s Philatelic Collections. This specially curated display will feature rarities from various collections so you can see what the British Library has and how to access this material. Discover this on our Display Your Way touchscreens on Stand 30.   We are also delighted to offer a special visit to the British Library as part of Stampex Week. Join the Philatelic Collections team for a tour and chance to ask for advice or ask questions about the services on offer. This event takes place at 12 noon on Friday the 24th October at the British Library, 96 Euston Rd, London NW1 2DB. There are 12 spaces available. To book, email info@thepts.net   The British Library Philatelic Collections is the national philatelic collection of the United Kingdom with over 8 million items from around the world. It was established in 1891 as part of the British Museum Library, later to become the British Library, with the collection of Thomas Tapling. In addition to bequests and continuing donations, the library received consistent deposits by the Crown Agency and has become a primary research collection for British Empire and international history. The collections contain a wide range of artefacts in addition to postage stamps, from newspaper stamps to the Perkins D cylinder press used to print the first postage stamps of Great Britain, the Penny Black.
