Hi @PJTheEconomist, that was my follow up question. As I said on the show she told me this is only for people with no other income than state pension. I posited an edge case of a £50/yr income eg from private pension and she said no, tax would still need paying then. I'll find that clip and try and put it on my show next week.

Not sure how this works. If taxable income is over personal allowance due to state pension = no tax, what happens if you have £1000 of other income? if you only tax the £1000 you have effectively raised allowance to state pension. If you tax the lot, you create a big tax spike

@MartinSLewis I don't do investing, because it is a sort of gambling and I don't gamble.

To the many saying "ITV should've given you more time".
A longer show would've been great. To be fair though, the budget was at a totally different date to that expected and far later (and we didn't know until this week the Chancellor was coming on), scheduling is done long in advance. I am grateful they gave me a half hour on top of my normal Tue 1hr.
And I'll be doing more budget coverage, specifically on savings, in next Tue's show, and investing the week after.

@MartinSLewis I only print bank statements off if I need them.

How long should you keep bank statements and paperwork. It's not what many think, see my new blog... blog.moneysavingexpert.com/2025/11/bank-s…
