WELCOME NEW FOLLOWERS 🙏🏽 If you're new to my commentary: I'm a political independent — I don't support either establishment party or their corporate media mouthpieces. I'm a follower of Jesus (not of organized religion), and I believe we are called to protect the vulnerable and oppressed. I grew up a hunter and gun owner, was a child conscript, and survived a decade in a war zone. Which is why I find human violence, in all its terrible forms, to be a scourge on our planet. I've been working in national politics for 25 years, and I've come to recognize that Americans are among the most propagandized people in the world. I believe in liberty and justice for ALL, freedom of speech and religion, due process, and our Constitutional right to protest. I respect those who are willing to defend their principles under all circumstances, not just when it fits a partisan agenda. I believe in honor, loyalty, integrity, fairness, family, and community. I believe no one in America (or anywhere) should be homeless, hungry, or lack health care. I don't want my government subsidizing war crimes or fighting other people's conflicts. I respect healthy debate and disagreement, but I have no tolerance for duopoly talking points and spin. Most importantly, I believe we must treat each other with compassion, kindness, and love. I had a strange dream last night where my mother, who passed in 2024, told me we're in a "rapid influx" simulation. I had no idea what that meant, but I looked it up and it's an actual theory.

I didn't expect this post to get much traction, just sharing a dream with friends. But let me explain what my search produced: The “rapid influx” version of the simulation argument builds on ideas from Nick Bostrom and is often echoed by Elon Musk. The key claim is that once a civilization reaches a certain level of technology, it could suddenly create enormous numbers of detailed simulations in a short time. This creates a spike—a rapid influx—of simulated conscious minds that quickly outnumber all original biological minds. If that happens, then statistically most observers would exist inside simulations. Using reasoning like the Self-Sampling Assumption (treating yourself as a random observer), it would follow that you’re far more likely to be in one of those simulations than in base reality.
