@CinemaTweets1 I’m nearly finished rewatch 6 myself and couldn’t agree more about Jim’s acting. It’s beyond phenomenal. He’s that good he makes everyone around him 25% better. It’s a show that will never be topped. Violence, comedy, terror, love, cruelty, warmth. It literally has it all.

I don’t want my 6th rewatch of The Sopranos to end but I can’t avoid it- I’m just about finished. Every time I rewatch this show, I learn or notice something new. Previous rewatches revolved around David Chase or the loaded writer’s room. Even just appreciating the entire cast top to bottom dominated my 4th rewatch. This time around? James Gandolfini is really my biggest takeaway. He was the biggest reason for this show’s success in my opinion, right above Chase. But rewatching his work again, especially as Kevin Finnerty, just baffles me. How did he do this? Where did this come from? So much of this show hinged on the performance of Tony- and Jim nailed it. And the rest is history. It’s my pick for the best television performance ever.

Some of the comments on this post reveal how linear — and frankly illogical — some people think. If McDonald’s charges $4 for a hamburger, and tomorrow they give you fries, a drink, and an apple pie with that same hamburger for the same $4, those additional items are FREE. Yes, there is still the original $4 cost. But that cost already existed. What changed is the value. If you can’t understand that distinction — the difference between price and value — you probably shouldn’t be trading. You won't see that occur at McDonalds or most businesses without increasing price. Why? Because it compresses margins - they make less. I chose to do exactly that. As a matter of fact, businesses will increase prices without adding more just to keep up with inflation. We haven't raised prices even once in 16 years. And that's not because I can't. I’ve invested millions in development and continue to spend hundreds of thousands per month in maintenance, technology, and labor and I did not raise prices. That’s a fact. Now ask yourself something simple: If you signed up and I removed the platform tomorrow — but kept the price the same — wouldn’t you feel like you were paying more for less? Of course you would. Value works both ways. The math is not debatable.
