The more I give time and attention to @X the more I feel like it is becoming a cesspool of spam and negativity. Is there a good alternative platform people are using?

@byron_snider It feels a bit like it's becoming more of a spam factory than anything else and I'm growing tired of the mental energy to filter that. I'm going to try to filter with lists and see if that can help.

@peterfromfargo I have also had the same feeling for about the past month. Strangely it will seem better for a few days, but overall the platform has lately been going down hill for the exact reasons you articulate.

How is it that a good portion of my feed in "X" are people I don't follow, also noticing a higher volume of comments on posts that are unrelated to the post, ads/scams/etc? Seeing a real drop in the value of information here. How are others managing this?

@DamianPMason and no doubt there have been many advances in crop science technology that have changed the industry.

@peterfromfargo Although it's a convenient way to monitor growth and advancements. From 36 bushels per acre in 1936 to 180+ this year.

Went into the crowd to drive this point home for my Agriculture audience: Population growth WILL NOT be a driver of increased demand for Agriculture in the very near future. The "population bomb" isn't going to blow up, contrary to what the crisis pushers from the 1960s onward preached. Currently we have the smallest percentage of global starvation we've had in a century even as the population has grown by nearly 8X in that timeframe. Global population will begin to decline in the next decade or two. Meanwhile, Agriculture's productive capacity is expanding, with more food produced globally than ever before. We in Agriculture need to change how we think about food production (and we will!). From sheer quantity to nutrient quality and resource sustainability. Because - for the first time in any our lifetimes -- the seats at the dinner table are gonna stop increasing! #agriculture #business #keynotespeaker #food #population #economics

@DamianPMason Yield definitely has its place but I think it has overshadowed nutritional content of crops, devaluing them in the market that is buying on other factors like protein, energy, amino acids, fat, and more.

@DamianPMason Let’s get bushels per acre out of our vocabulary. It’s a lie that cheapens the end product and our farmers suffer as a result

For my colleagues dabbling in #AI which tools are you using? Paid or free versions? What are some examples of ways you're using them?

I'm intrigued by the recent strides in the animal feed industry towards using insect protein. The entry of Tyson Foods into this space through an investment in Protix and their black soldier fly technology is a bold move. nutritioninsight.com/news/tyson-foo…
