“After work I went to the store to pick up a few things. While checking out, the cashier, looked at my name tag and said, "So what do you do there?" I replied, "I'm a nurse." She continued, "I'm surprised they let you work there like that. What do your patients think about your hair?" She then proceeded to ask the elderly lady that was in line behind me, "What do you think about her hair?" The kind older lady said, "Nothing against you honey, it's just not for me." Then the cashier continued to comment that they didn't allow that sort of thing even when she worked fast food and that she was shocked that a nursing facility would allow that. Well, here's my thoughts: I can't recall a time that my hair color has prevented me from providing life saving treatment to one of my patients. My tattoos have never kept them from holding my hand and as they lay frightened and crying because Alzheimer's has stolen their mind. My multiple ear piercings have never interfered with me hearing them reminisce about their better days or listening to them as they express their last wishes. My tongue piercing has never kept me from speaking words of encouragement to a newly diagnosed patient or from comforting a family that is grieving. @614clinton A lot of things didn’t happen today, but this didn’t happen the most.

After getting burned out working the night shift I switched to days. My first day shift- I was dispatched to a local convenience store for possible narcotics activity in the parking lot. When I arrived I noticed a male subject matching the description talking to another male subject. As I was exiting my patrol car, he tossed a small baggie and took off running on foot. I grabbed the baggie and gave foot chase for a little ways but lost him across the street in a wooded area. I called for backup but no one was available. After a couple hours went by I saw the same male subject come out of the wooded area and cross the road. When I caught up to him, he took off running again and I was back in another foot pursuit. I called it out over the radio and asked for an additional unit. I ended up catching him in a bank parking lot. After he resisted arrest I tased him. Again, no help, no backup and no one showed up. After I transported him to jail I received a call to meet with the day shift sergeant. We met in a parking lot. He told me, "This isn't going to work on the day shift." I said, "What won't work?" He said, "You're making way too much commotion. The Chief of police, City manager and mayor are all monitoring our radio traffic. They are not used to that." I said, "Okay What do you want me to do? He said, "Go sit in a parking lot somewhere and wait until you receive a call and then show up and just take a report." I said, "Oh I see, y'all do nothing on the day shift so the head honchos can pretend there's no crime going on in the city while it's going to hell? Well Sergeant, with all due respect, that ain't going to work for me. I did not sign up for that!" 614clinton

@ctucci12 @yanxchick @coachcasey13u Let everyone play every position and keep the same batting order the whole year but pickup wherever you left off from the previous game. If the 7th batter makes the last out then the 8th batter bats lead off the next game.
