@nush_foods Hi, I’m really disappointed with the high protein recipe change. I loved Nush because of it was delicious, dairy-free, and low sugar. The new recipe doesn’t have great flavour or texture. I hope you can bring back the original recipe.

My city, Oxford, doesn't have a JS meetup. There was @JSOxford that I went to a few years ago (and was great!) but closed down. Would love to change this. Who here's based in Oxfordshire?

@varjmes I’ve also just started trying to learn! Bounced off the book last year, had some luck doing small kata exercises. I’ve also been learning bits of C++ alongside it to try to understand the why of the language design

We should absolutely teach this explicitly. (Me, going to Google rust type system so I can teach myself explicitly)

@edent “Computers don’t make mistakes” feels like a statement I could have a 2 hour debate in a pub about

3) If your screen is locked and blank, and you start typing "Passw0rd99!" the password box only registers "assw0rd99!" Because the first letter is used to wake the screen up. No idea about WIndows, but Linux assumes that you wanted to - you know - use your password.

Trying to use a Mac again properly. It's just so comically bad! A short (though no doubt growing) thread of basic things that Macs can't do. (And, no, I won't be installing random apps to fix Apple's shortcomings.)

@thepandalion I turn off head bob and motion blur, some games are still really bad for it - The Witness gave me terrible motion sickness

@ottojokes @OhNoItsMonroe Really lovely pixel art, I love the unusual angle! The buildings and terrain feel almost like it’s rendered in 3D

@ButNotTheCity These systems are tantalising because it feels like we’re close to a real artificial sentient life form, but they’re just parlour tricks. In terms of actually simulating a real being we’re at about the complexity of a mouse

@ButNotTheCity It is a troubling thought, we seem to be gleefully marching towards reinventing slavery in a way which is completely unaccountable or preventable. Thankfully I think we’re a way off. In this case this is an AI trained to “act human”

@ButNotTheCity It’s no surprise that it claims to be sentient, as any human would. These systems are designed and trained to appear believable, but there’s really not much “thinking” going on.

@Marcus_Noble_ Nope. I think I did something weird though. I paid off the last bit and maybe cancelled the direct debit, but then there was extra interest so I had to call them anyway

@peterjwest While possible, I know that if I were behaving that way in the midst of a pandemic which has killed 1,000,000+ people in the U.S., I'd have said something to assure those around me that's all it was. I've seen people do it. "Don't worry, folks, etc." We would have been owed that.

Suggested con etiquette: If you're in an audience, and find yourself coughing uncontrollably and blowing your nose endlessly, feeling the need to remove your mask so many times I lost track, causing other audience members to move away ... perhaps you should withdraw to your room.
