More bad behavior from a Cook County elected official. Maywood mayor allegedly drunk and belligerent. Can you guess what party he is affiliated with? Watch the video. Seriously folks, these people are making taxing and spending decisions that affect you.
Giggling Ganon@GigglingGanon

Maywood Illinois mayor passed out drunk in his car on the express way by downtown Chicago arrested for DUI after putting on a show for the Chicago PD. Chicago Police officers found a vehicle stopped dead in a live lane of traffic on the I-290 (Eisenhower Expressway) near Canal Street. Behind the wheel was Nathaniel George Booker, the Mayor of Maywood, Illinois—not just pulled over, but fast asleep while his SUV sat in a position that could have easily caused a fatal high-speed collision. The "Special Treatment" Standard What follows in the bodycam footage is a masterclass in professional—arguably overly accommodating—policing. Most citizens found slumped over a wheel on a major interstate, slurring their speech and refusing to follow basic commands, would be handled with far less patience. Throughout the encounter, Booker: Repeatedly invoked his status: "I'm the mayor of a f*ing town." Refused to put the car in park or exit the vehicle initially. Claimed he didn't trust the officers or their squad car. Effectively shut down the investigation by refusing field sobriety tests and a breathalyzer. Despite his belligerence and the high-stakes danger he posed to other drivers, the officers remained remarkably calm, giving him multiple opportunities to cooperate that the average driver likely wouldn't receive. Because Booker refused to blow, Illinois’ Implied Consent law should have triggered an automatic 12-month license suspension. He was initially charged with a DUI. However, the legal system worked differently for the Mayor: The Plea: His DUI charge was eventually reduced to a Reckless Driving conviction. The Rescission: shortly after incident, he announced his license suspension was rescinded at a town board meeting. The Justification: Despite the video evidence of him asleep at the wheel on a highway and his refusal to cooperate, the court claimed a "lack of evidence" for the DUI. The Final Twist You would think a video of a public official using his title to dodge accountability after a dangerous expressway incident would be the end of a political career. Believe it or not: Nathaniel George Booker stayed in power and was re-elected as Mayor of Maywood in April 2025, securing over 60% of the vote. Does the "Mayor" title come with a different set of laws, or did the voters simply decide this was a mistake worth overlooking? Watching this video is eye opening for me as I used to live in Chicago and I have friends that are active Chicago police officers right now. They are terrified to do their job the way they should be because of retaliation by being called racist or being accused of being to forcefull. That city has to be one of the worst places to be a cop. You guys are seeing less than half of the interaction with this mayor as I had to edit it down for time. Just trying to talk him into a car off the expressway I had enough footage to double the length of this video. They were treating him with kid gloves.

Last night I announced that I am seeking reelection as Alderman of the 15th Ward! It has been 84 years since the 15th Ward elected the same alderman to four consecutive terms. It is time to do it again! This is not simply about making history. My return to City Council shall serve as a steadfast reminder of what a good alderman is supposed to be: someone attentive to the voters, caring for all residents, and unwavering conviction at City Hall supported by the knowledge of how to get things done. Regardless who is our next mayor, or especially if Brandon Johnson returns for a second disastrous act, we need aldermen in City Council that know what their job is & how to do it. Working with our friends in Labor, community groups & business leaders, we have put people to work. We have created opportunity and vitality in communities. We have, most importantly, brought safety and sanity back to many communities. And in less than forty weeks, we must again do something together: elect a new mayor that loves and believes in Chicago and pack the City Council with common sense aldermen who can put an end to this reign of madness.

The advent of the smartphone has made men and women, but especially women, far less likely to get married, want to have kids, and less likely to stay married. Anything that discourages family formation is ultimately anti-human and a disservice to civilization. You think you like and rely on these things until you experience life without them (digital detox) and realize just how much of our humanity has been sacrificed at the altar of technology. Miserable, diabolical contraptions.

.@SenWarren All of our assets are invested in a blind trust by the largest financial institutions in broad market indexes. To suggest that individual stocks are being bought or sold, at the discretion of any member of the Trump family, would be a lie and blatantly false. Using a silly example, if you buy the “Schwab 1000,” you will get some exposure to Nvidia - as well as a 1,000 other U.S. companies large- and mid-cap stocks. It’s completely disingenuous to represent anything to the contrary. Please be better than this…
Elizabeth Warren@SenWarren

Trump brought the NVIDIA CEO on his trip to China to lobby Xi Jinping to buy advanced AI chips, even though it would create a U.S. national security threat. It turns out Trump also bought millions in NVIDIA's stock. The President's corruption is a national security disaster.

In recent months, Uber and its executives have taken direct and indirect shots at its robotaxi partner Waymo, warning against autonomous vehicle operators trying to scale on their own while also criticizing Waymo's deployment strategy and technology, with one executive sharing a video on X of a "scary Waymo moment." Opinion: Waymo should really just stop relying on Uber and take rides from their own app. It would give Google more control. If the experience is good and the cost is right, people will have no issue downloading another app. businessinsider.com/uber-waymo-par…

Rep. Jim Jordan EVISCERATES Fairfax County DA Steve Descano's refusal to prosecute a violent illegal migrant that DIRECTLY led to murder. Morales-Ortiz, an illegal from El Salvador with a rap sheet including a prior murder charge and assaulting a cop, faced new gun and wounding charges in September 2025. Descano's office dropped them on December 16. The Sheriff released him and he killed a man the next day. Why is this Soros DA still in office?

Today, I am proud to announce the city-wide expansion of our Crisis Assistance Response and Engagement Program to all 77 of Chicago's community areas. The C.A.R.E. Program provides a non-police response to individuals experiencing mental health crises and socio-emotional distress by deploying trained mental health professionals and EMTs to deliver appropriate, compassionate care, crisis intervention, and basic medical support. With this expansion, we are solidifying our commitment to prioritizing compassion over criminalization for those most in need.

Two years. No replacement. No urgency. Chicagoans are dying while City Hall delays gunshot detection. 67% of voters — every race, every ward — want it back. Lives have been lost and more are at stake in the 23rd Ward and across the city. Bring it back.
