No one—let me repeat: NO ONE—knows that a Creator "exists because of individual beliefs in him". Belief alone can't impart knowledge. WIDESPREAD belief can't impart knowledge. Don't get your doxastic chariot before your epistemic ass, theists. And FFS, learn how to logic.
Jonah Davis@YonaThaNightBo

@Thrilling_pen @Cervus2Leo @Michael54905936 @McClureShawn I’ll answer it for him. We don’t know where our creator came from but we know he exists because of our individual beliefs in him. Now the problem is everyone wants to project themselves into what you believe or even worse bash you for it. But I hope you guys the best!

Science is the best tool for studying the natural world, but it’s not the only way to know things. Logic, mathematics, and philosophy provide non empirical knowledge, and even the claim that ‘only science works’ isn’t itself scientific. So saying religious claims are invalid because they aren’t testable by science assumes a philosophical position, not a scientific one.

@peterockstar @Rattshrakk @McClureShawn There is nothing wrong with faith and hope. And logic is only as good as the thinker (and we're all fallible). The scientific method is the best way we have of finding out how things work in this world. Most religious claims cannot be tested by the scientific method.

@Rattshrakk @FastHorseAtDusk @McClureShawn Scientists rely on trust in the consistency of nature, the reliability of their senses, and the soundness of logic, assumptions necessary for science to function. As previously mentioned trust is one of the words used to define faith. Faith is not blind as many tend to believe.

@GodlessEngineer Ancient history rarely has eyewitnesses. Paul’s letters and the Gospels give multiple confirmations, enough for historians to reason about Jesus’ life.

There are no independent eyewitness testimonies for Jesus of Nazareth. There are only claims of a revelatory Christ Jesus. Paul never met a human Jesus. The Gospels were written decades later by anonymous authors who weren't there. Every piece of early "evidence" traces back …

Revelation 4:11 “..Because you created all things” Hebrews 1:2 “He has spoken to us by means of his son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the system of things” Who’s the ‘he’ in this verse that Jesus spoke for? That appointed Jesus heir? And created through Jesus? (John 1:3; Col 1:16;)

@peterockstar @Oluwadaniel_0 What divine name? Jehovah God? Did you place that places that was meant to prove Jesus is God? Like Revelation 4:11 "Thou are worthy o LORD (inserts: Jehovah God). Paul, Peter etc calls Jesus our LORD, severally.

Faith is tied to knowledge, it’s translated as conveying the thought of, confidence, trust, firm persuasion. Scientists have faith on a particular branch of science, they base new experiments on past discoveries and look for new discoveries on the bases of those things already established.

It’s true that believing something alone doesn’t make it true. But belief is still part of knowing, without belief, knowledge is impossible. The key is justification, a well-supported belief can be knowledge, whereas a random or erroneous belief, like water boiling at 50°C, is just error.

@Mila_Zonderling @McClureShawn Premises in theistic philosophy are usually drawn from debates in Metaphysics. Causation ,contingency, necessity, moral realism aren’t arbitrary, they’re heavily analyzed across philosophy

@peterockstar @McClureShawn In the sense of flawed reasoning, syllogisms with unsupportable premises, false dichotomies and silly binaries, erroneous dependency on classical (secular) logic, too much to mention in a single tweet.

Theists love to talk philosophy because it help masks the insufficiency and invalidity of their arguments with a façade of articulate deepity. If you weave enough words and tangled verbosity around weak and faulty claims, you can fake a semblance of credibility with the masses.

@Mila_Zonderling @McClureShawn There are theists like Plantinga and Swinburne and many throughout history who are widely respected in analytic philosophy. You don’t have to agree with them, but dismissing them as ‘not doing philosophy’ is just redefining the field to exclude views you don’t like.

@McClureShawn Theists don't talk philosophy, they think they do, they claim they do, they bluff they do but they don't fool anyone who has a basic background in philosophy. They also claim to be champions in logic which makes me ROTFLOL. 😁

@Oluwadaniel_0 Your JEHOVAH'S WITNESS BIBLE tried so hard to remove the status of Jesus as God. Adding words that changed meanings. And changing words. That is an affront to the honor of Christ and a sin. WARNING: Hebrews 4:1, Rev. 22:18-19

@CaptFligh @CounselExc21945 @peterockstar @McClureShawn This is irrelevant to the discussion. Today at work, my team and I completed a project where we designed, built and tested a machine that can tell the sulfur content of a diesel sample down to .018 PPM. That scientific accuracy does not come from assumptions. Do you understand?

Children are born atheists. They don’t believe in gods until someone teaches them. Religious belief isn’t natural, it’s indoctrinated.

Christians often say if you seek "honestly and diligently", you'll find God. Nope. I sought honestly and diligently after being a Christian for 25+ years and eventually found God to be fictional. The Christian "honestly" is almost always synonymous with "presuppositionally".

@McClureShawn Good point Imagine the different possibilities of creation. Contemplate, question, research, seek to understand If you’ve indeed approached this investigation honestly and diligently, it will still lead you back to God
