@CapitalCityCody Kane emulates Stephen A and Skip, they love the NBA because it’s a star driven sport - an easy sport to have surface level convo about, one/two players make a huge diff within a game. AFL not the case, but he speaks like it is. To ignore the Swans off. efficiency is negligent.

@7AFL He’s a massive part of the forward structure, which is the best offense (and defense) in the comp. Picking individual players out of a team is the NBAification of the AFL.

Florent for a ‘26 3rd was a separate deal.
Much loved? Florent played ressies much of ‘25 on a huge ticket, and hasn’t helped the Blues (2nd in the comp in turnovers). Hayward great support player, not a key man

@JeffVeillette Berube has a clear massive influence on Pelley, and no one else can make the calls right now. Berube coaching for his future (which I understand but is horrible for his current team) and who is actually gonna stand in his way? It’s such a mess.

@WillyDiBa7 @JeffVeillette I just don’t understand why they don’t at least begin with a basic matrix of acts, and then grade from there with intent/severity/injury.
It’s not perfect but this sort of thing, so at least it’s public knowledge and can’t be formatted with rule changes over time.

So here’s the problem with that. They throw down a huge number based on intent alone. Then the player instantly gets it overturned because the CBA explicitly states that intent is one of three factors. Then the league looks even dumber for violating the CBA and getting overturned.
