With Oldham RLFC having the second-highest wage bill in the Championship behind the London Broncos, the future would appear to be uncertain as to what happens moving forward. Without immediate investment from new parties, the club's future under the current high-spending model will be uncertain, as Bill Quinn was actively seeking new investment before his departure. It has been rumoured in Rugby League circles that former director of Rugby League, Mike Ford is looking to bring in a consortium and take over the club.
