Fuel tankers have been filling up at the depot at Foynes Port this afternoon since the blockade was lifted at lunchtime today.

Blockade at Foynes stood down. Neilus O’Connor, an agricultural contractor from Moyvane, Co Kerry, said a vote was taken after their peaceful and effective protest.

Protesters in Foynes have announced that they are stepping down the blockade at the fuel depot in County Limerick at 1pm today.

In Foynes, Reidy’s Circle K got a delivery of 39,000 litres of petrol and diesel from Dublin last night. They contacted people working in essential services who came to fill their tanks. The service station is close to the blockade at Foynes Port.
