Pine Grove falls in the state title game. This senior group at PG won the most games in a 4 year stretch in Tippah County history, finished in North Half, North Half, 3rd round, state title game 3 in their four years.

Pine Grove Senior Gehrig Shinall threw 6.2 innings to reach his max pitch count and with a runner on third and 2 outs, fellow senior Tanner Pannell gets a 1 pitch save inducing this pop out to Ayden Jones. This PG senior class advances to their 3rd North Half championship series in 4 years where they are set to take on Biggersville.

A pitchers duel was in full force until Trevor Shinall’s walk off homer. Coy Childs struck out 11 on 122 pitches and unleashing maybe the best HS slider I’ve seen this year. Tanner Pannell took the W, striking out 2 to end the contest.

Pine Grove with a gritty OT win over West Lowndes 48-46. Cooper Pounders, playing through personal tragedy after losing his sister Olivia yesterday, comes through clutch with a game high 18 points, including a 3 to send the game to OT and FT to seal the win.
