Twins, 5yrs. At dinner deciding the weekend documentary. @adamliaw vs Tiny World - Primates… very strong opinions! Dinosaurs already eliminated.

@chriswithers13 @paulweveritt @calvinhp I've been working on a non-Zope ZODB app for a while, so straightforward when there are many highly linked things. Much faster as well compared to the standard choices. Feels like being very much outside the norm but a definite advantage. A shame it doesn't get more use.

Still not satisfied with the data layer in this app. I'm using in-render functions that call SWR, but there's some gnarly user paths that require ad hoc management of the cache and/or React state. Doesn't feel rock solid. Thinking about trying Apollo but tbh not sure it'll help.

@anthonypjshaw What combo platforms of .net and Python install are required? I can get Python arm64 in-place but it looks like .net is only x86_64 at this stage.

Could use some help. If you are building with a Python web framework (Django, Flask, etc), how would you describe most web apps you build in terms of JavaScript front end frameworks like Vue, React, ... vs. just server-side templates such as Jinja2, Chameleon?

@robhawkes Are you able to share the parts you use and the script? This sounds like a good starter project.

What's cool is that the hardware setup is super simple — cheap Arduino and a really cheap RF receiver. The code is simple too, basically brute force checks on the RF signal pattern. So far it's working well.

It works!! 🚪🔔🙌 TL;DR; I've created a little Arduino script that listens to RF signals to detect when my "dumb" wireless doorbell has been pressed so I can send notifications to my computer / phone.

Had a go at this last night with mixed success. Hooked up to an LED so I could see the signal, and something definitely changed whenever I pressed the doorbell. Next step is to work out how to make sense of the signal so I can react to it. Also fun to do this all from VS Code!

Remember how in Lost Desmond had to push the right buttons every 108 minutes or the world would end? That's your life with newborn twins.

Word of the day: CRYPTOPHASIA — a special language developed in early childhood between twins as they tend to communicate only with each other.

7. well measures to greatly improve the efficacy of the militia. In 1783, Hamilton sought suggestions on how to do this, receiving proposals from Washington, Timothy Pickering, and others, with Washington's suggestions being a condensation of ideas from Israel Putnam, Baron von
