In the garden, the moment Satan/Lucifer succeeded in beguiling Eve (and then she Adam) he won rulership of the earth. He (and his) have been running things here ever since. Thus began the earth phase of the Great Controversy between Satan and God over whose way is the better way and has the best interests of humankind at heart.

@pfwedE @NMarbletoe @Wardance68 @DrShayPhD The idea that an average person can read the Bible is a new thing if you look actual literacy rates of history and at when bibles were readily available to everybody. Like 200 years. The Catholics have that oral tradition per apostolic succession

@TimLoMich @NMarbletoe @Wardance68 @DrShayPhD Thanks to the Protestant reformation movement science and access to education exploded. Cheap Bible's became available to EVERYONE .. whereas the RCC kept everyone ignorant and dependent on THEIR interpretation of scripture. REAL reason it was called the 'dark ages'.

@pfwedE @NMarbletoe @Wardance68 @DrShayPhD Did Jesus give authority to? The apostles or the book? You’re right, The Word is authoritative, but the apostles have the authority to teach from it. And what are the “oral” traditions Paul is referring to in 2 Thess. 2:15? It’s impossible to know from reading scripture

@pfwedE @Wardance68 @DrShayPhD You’re right, I shouldn’t have used “fully”. I was trying emphasize that they use scripture, but their interpretation. They believe the Bible is “the word of God, as long as it is interpreted correctly” but believe parts have been altered or are missing. “Perfect” workaround

@TimLoMich @NMarbletoe @Wardance68 @DrShayPhD Roman Catholics are so hung up on "authority". God is the authority and He gave mankind the instruction via His prophets .. "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." Is:20 His WORD is the authority

@TimLoMich @NMarbletoe @Wardance68 @DrShayPhD With the help of the Holy Spirit we are given the *ability* to understand scripture and come to a saving relationship with Jesus. Scripture encourages believers to prayerfully study together to arrive at truth. "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Prov27:17

@NMarbletoe @TimLoMich @Wardance68 @DrShayPhD We have what we call Sabbath School every Sabbath morning for an hour or more and study/discuss together the thoughtful substantive study guides provided to the entire world wide church that cycle through the entire Bible over time from all manner of scripture based angles.

@TimLoMich @Wardance68 @DrShayPhD Not true ... in the SDA *everyone* has freedom of conscience when it comes to their understanding of scripture. Our pastors are well trained and educated but they have no authority over individuals when it comes to spiritual matters. They provide guidance as best they can.

@pfwedE @Wardance68 @DrShayPhD He didn’t know which church had the truth and one verse saying there would be a falling away made him think it happened and the church needed to be restored. In the end, if it’s sola scriptura, you’re still going to fall under your pastor’s authority/interpretation of scripture..

@TimLoMich @Wardance68 @DrShayPhD You do great disservice to your cause and actual Truth by repeating that ludicrous number of "denominations". The TRUTH is there are only a relative handful of actual denominations .. the rest are almost entirely single stand alone churches.

@Wardance68 @DrShayPhD To say they despise it, is unfair. What do you think they read from during service? The Quran? What they do despise is misinterpretation(e.g. 40,000+ denominations)

@DrShayPhD Not only do they not stand on Scripture, but they despise it. They don't read it or understand it, they just rely on what their priest tells them. Just say "Sola Scriptura" around them, and they start foaming at the mouth like a rabid squirrel.

@docpresley2020 This is a view of this passage re the Laodician church I've not seen or considered before. The church content with it's lack of spiritual gifts not realizing how naked they are without them. Interesting Thank you

My son-in-law, who is a pastor of a church of about 600, and a growing number of house churches, recently said to me that he wasn't sure seeker-sensitive churches were necessary if we are raising the dead. Paul said there would come a day when a form of godliness would exist but without power. I believe Paul's statement implies supernatural power was the norm, not the exception as it is today. One reason is because he lists "gifts of healing", "working of miracles," “prophesy," etc., as everyday gifts for use in the churches he planted. One question I frequently ask folks is, “Do you desire to prophesy, heal, or work miracles?” Most say they "weren't closed to the idea but couldn't say they really desire it." Paul tells us to desire spiritual gifts and to earnestly desire to prophesy. In my experience, you must eagerly desire the gifts God wants to give to you to receive them. The alternative is to develop a theology that justifies the lack of power in your life. So the choice comes down to the one the Laodicean church had. Choice 1: Proclaim "we are rich and in need of nothing," or at least we're pretty satisfied the with the way things are. Choice 2: In the absence of supernatural power, acknowledge we're poor wretched naked and miserable. God can work with those who do. Warning, choice two may lead to you seeing God's will being done on earth as it in in heaven ( :

@Apostle_David The main Enochian premise that drives the fascination is a lie. Angels are not sexual beings. Mt22:30 Satan has merely used that lie to convince certain susceptible humans they are of a "divine" bloodline and "special".

THE ENOCH SURGE — WHY THE DECEPTION RATE IS EXPLODING The Issue Is Not Whether Enoch Is “Biblical” People argue endlessly about whether Enoch is ancient, authentic, and inspired. It is quoted by Jude in the scriptures and has been preserved in the Dead Sea Scrolls. But none of that is the real issue. The real issue is what the book does to the heart. Enoch becomes spiritually dangerous the moment it becomes a replacement lens and a new center of gravity. It’s a competing cosmology and a source of “secret knowledge”, a narrative that feels more exciting than Scripture. This is why the deception rate spikes around it. The danger is not the text. The danger is the shift of focus. Enoch Creates a New Narrative of Focus This is the core: Enoch gives people a storyline that feels more dramatic, more mystical, and more conspiratorial than the Bible itself. It offers: • watchers • forbidden knowledge • cosmic rebellion • hybrid beings • heavenly journeys • secret judgments This becomes intoxicating to the unanchored heart. And once the imagination is captured, the Scriptures begin to feel: • too plain • too slow • too grounded • too human • too covenantal Enoch becomes the “real story,” and the Bible becomes commentary. This is the spiritual inversion. Enoch Pulls the Heart Away From Jesus This is the most important point made, and it’s exactly right. Enoch does not lead people to: • the cross • the resurrection • the kingdom • the covenant • the Lamb • the testimony of Jesus Instead, it leads them to: • watchers • giants • ancient secrets • cosmic conspiracies • angelic hierarchies • pre‑flood mysteries It replaces Christ‑centered revelation with mystery‑centered fascination. This is why the deception rate skyrockets around it. The heart moves from: • devotion → curiosity • worship → speculation • Scripture → mythology • Christ → cosmology This is the spiritual displacement. Why People Think “Mentioned in the Bible = Biblical” This is the trap. People say: “If Jude quoted it, it must be Scripture.” But the biblical authors also quoted: • pagan poets • Greek philosophers • ancient proverbs • cultural sayings Quotation does not equal canon. The mention of Enoch in Scripture is not an endorsement, it’s only is a reference point. But the deceived heart interprets it as: • validation • authorization • divine approval This becomes the gateway to a new narrative. Why Enoch Was Not Included in the Canon? Enoch was excluded not because it is false, but because it is distracting. The early church recognized: • its authorship was uncertain • its theology was uneven • its cosmology was speculative • its narrative was intoxicating • its influence was destabilizing Most importantly: it pulled attention away from Christ and toward angelic speculation. This is the exact pattern Paul warned against in Colossians 2:18 — “worship of angels…intruding into things he has not seen.” Enoch is not heresy. It is misdirection. And misdirection is the most effective form of deception. Why the Enoch Surge Is Exploding Right Now Because the atmosphere is primed for it. Enoch fits perfectly into the modern deception ecosystem: • alien disclosure • watchers as extraterrestrials • Nephilim as hybrids • ancient technology theories • pre‑flood civilizations • conspiracy culture • supernatural reinterpretation Enoch becomes the bridge between: • biblical language • occult fascination • alien mythology • conspiracy narratives This is why the deception rate is multiplying. Enoch is the perfect “gateway text” for the end‑time atmosphere. The danger is not believing Enoch is ancient. The danger is believing Enoch is central. Because once Enoch becomes central: • Jesus becomes peripheral • Scripture becomes secondary • prophecy becomes distorted • cosmology becomes mythological • discernment becomes compromised • fascination replaces faith This is the architecture of deception. Enoch was not included in the canon because God protects His people from distractions that feel spiritual but do not lead to Christ.
