By opening access to Apple, Tesla or Nvidia shares and soon to start-up financing, it is American companies that will capture (via blockchain) an increasingly important international savings pool, accentuating their competitive advantage and financing capacity. Should we blame the United States for taking advantage of this dynamic? No. They are showing pragmatism and strategic vision. The real problem lies on this side of the Atlantic. Europe, once again, is moving out of step. Our political and financial leaders, too often prisoners of ideological postures or an almost visceral mistrust of innovation, have hampered the emergence of European blockchain and digital asset champions. We must not mistake the diagnosis: if the dollar and American companies are about to take the prize in the era of digital assets, it is also because Europe has lacked courage and foresight. The question is not whether we should protect ourselves from American power (that battle is already largely lost) but whether we finally want to give ourselves the means to build our own digital and financial power... Europe has great assets in this sector, let's take advantage of them.
