No special cases, no shortcuts. Predictably, admins hated it: Plan 9 demanded you relearn everything, treating familiar tools as outdated relics. It gained a small, cultish following—mostly academics and masochists—then faded quietly. Today, Plan 9 lingers like an eccentric cousin at Unix’s family reunion, misunderstood, overlooked, and smugly confident it’s still fundamentally superior to its bloated sibling.

I did it so you don't have to: my llama.cpp build was using cuda 12.0, without Blackwell support (which came with 12.6), this morning I upgraded cuda-toolkit to 12.8 (which is my cuda driver version) and yes, I gained ~5 to 10 tp/s on my RTX 5080, from 75-80 to 80-85. 1/2
