#Maine #MEpolitics Rockland Maine - 9/3/25 - Property Taxes Skyrocket "Residents Told They Need To Pay Their Fair Share" Residents say they have to now sell their homes, that nonprofits that own property are exempt, the services they receive to equate to what they pay, and that the budget has exploded while the local Government continues to expand & add more positions & payroll. The town of Rockland hired a company from Massachusetts to do an appraisal of property which caused MOST property taxes to skyrocket - though it didn't appear even across the board nor did it match what the properties were selling for on Zillow. *A local rep shows up and explains to them that "New Schools Don't Grow On Trees".
