@tonysammon Or go back one step. If you believe that the sole purpose of education is the transmission of knowledge, then it's likely you will come up with a pedagogical model that talks in terms of instruction and solely in terms of instruction.

Direct instruction isn’t the only game in town. If all you do is tell, explain, model, and practice, don’t be surprised when curiosity packs up and leaves. There are other ways to learn.
