Conclusion – ofc thieves don't fully brainwash and replace their targets after taking their desires, but they still decide to change the core of their self, and this decision correlates greatly to the theme of the game!

I love this questionable goal they follow. Ultimately, it would help a lot of people, but it's not as righteous and noble as it would seem. Akechi pinned it immediately, and I believe his whole confidant is a challenge for Ren to except his actions not being just black and white
